Not bad. On my iPhone 4 running in Mobile Safari it is pretty fast, faster than the old FB app. Running inside Gmail for iOS with the UIWebview with Nitro, it is definitely slower.

Argue all you want about the relative merits of web vs native apps, but the market is the ultimate decider. And, according to one previously stalwart web proponent, for now that means going native.

One should be able to compile a web app into a downloadable package, with capabilities to run the app completely offline. Until that web will always be second best to fully native. Performance is getting close enough though.
