Let's stop putting "mobile" in front of everything

I wonder whether putting "Mobile" in front of the different application areas (Mobile Health, Mobile Commerce, etc) isn't an issue and somehow a reason for why so many "mobile centric" projects fail.

Let me explain my point: What's new today is not that people use a smaller screen, or that they are on a less reliable and slower network. Yes, these are aspects that the people implementing the solutions will have to worry about, but they are not the factors that will determine the success of a solution. What should instead be the focus of the people designing the service, should be the user experience. How does their service deliver value?

Once you focus on the user experience, you will determine what sort of service would make sense in the different usage situations. Some things just don't make sense from a mobile and some things should not only be possible from a mobile, but also from a tablet/laptop/desktop.

Anyway, just morning ramblings.

Responsive Design Alone Is Not Mobile SEO

Responsive Design Alone Is Not Mobile SEO | Mobile | Scoop.it
Finally, Google and Bing have both made it official that for mobile search, it is best to have One URL to Rule Them All, something I have been advocating for over 2 years.

Using responsive design to render for different devices under one URL is a great first step, but that means assuming the same keyword trend and intent applies to all devices.
