The Early Results Of An iPad Classroom Are In. - Edudemic | MFL, ICT & Education Information | Scoop.it

While the decision to share these positive results is a direct result of the positive impact on student learning, it is also important to realize the impact this initiative is having with teachers. I’ve observed the collective knowledge base of our teachers grow at a rate that far exceeds any other period of time in my 13-years at this school.

I’ve never observed anything else that has had the impact on teacher personal learning like the introduction of the iPad.

How Teachers Make Cell Phones Work in the Classroom

How Teachers Make Cell Phones Work in the Classroom | MFL, ICT & Education Information | Scoop.it

At its core, the issues associated with mobile learning get to the very fundamentals of what happens in class everyday. At their best, cell phones and mobile devices seamlessly facilitate what students and teachers already do in thriving, inspiring classrooms. Students communicate and collaborate with each other and the teacher. They apply facts and information they’ve found to formulate or back up their ideas. They create projects to deepen their understanding, association with, and presentation of ideas.

Flipping Bloom’s Taxonomy | Powerful Learning Practice

Flipping Bloom’s Taxonomy | Powerful Learning Practice | MFL, ICT & Education Information | Scoop.it

Many teachers in many classrooms spend the majority of their time in the basement of the taxonomy, never really addressing or developing the higher order thinking skills that kids need to develop. We end up with rote and boring classrooms. Rote and boring curriculum. Much of today’s standardized testing rigorously tests the basement, further anchoring the focus of learning at the bottom steps, which is not beneficial for our students.
