Practice does not make perfect, no matter who says it does.  Practice makes permanent.  Perfect practice makes perfect.  So when an injury occurs, it may occur on the millionth step. Yet it took 999,999 steps to get there.

 

Running is a dance. You can do it gracefully or clumsily. Go for the Grace---GAPO---

 

Mindful Running is about thinking and feeling. Feeling how to run lightly over the surface of the earth. Only landing on the surface as lightly and quietly as possible. Thinking about being a graceful animal, a dancer of extreme grace and poise.

Wonderful follow-up to see what happens after having the injury analyzed, and prescription to deal with the injury, and the road back.

What is interesting is just a small observation . If you way the sit when he is being interviewed, he is slouching. That slouch is either because of the hamstings being tight. Also it could be just the way he sits when he is not being mindful. Many of us forget that when we are not training, the other 80 to 90 hours a week we are awake standing, sitting and moving is physical exercise and training us.  When we get tired we return to the posture we practice most.  And that is the 80 to 90 hours a weeks of unconscious standing, sitting, and moving.
