This is lovely.  We don't do enough "hugs" in our culture. I recently was speaking with an elderly person who told me they had not received a hug in months.  Since the last time they had seen me.  Give hugs freely!

Three months ago, the idea of spending Halloween at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in the middle of nowhere was laughable to Sarah.

Forget Christmas — Halloween is the 27-year-old’s favourite celebration. She loves dressing up, watching horror movies, eating candy and going to parties.

Instead, this year she shared her extensive horror movie collection with seven other recovering addicts at Crosbie House in New Minas.

Mark Bertolini, CEO, Aetna; with Soren Gordhamer, Founder, Wisdom 2.0, at Wisdom 2.0 Business 2013. They also hire health coaches to support their employees as part of this. The mindfulness practices at Aetna have paid off and Mark goes into the ROI in addition to the human factors which he values highly.

How nice to read something about mindfulness written by someone who really "gets it"! If you have had a regular practice for some time, the author's warning will resonate with you. Another reminder that, in addition to its usefulness in increasing focus and reducing stress, mindfulness properly practice can yield much deeper insights than most authors in the popular media realize or even mention.

Indeed.  In the 90's I conducted research on the effects of meditation on individuals with mental health issues - notably anxiety disorders - and it took quite some doing to get my professors to accept the validity of the study.  Less than 10 years later - Mindfulness became mainstream.
