I read another great article this weekend on the notion of teacher wellbeing. Interestingly, a lot of the articles on teacher wellbeing focus on deficit ideas (stress due to workload, classroom behaviour etc.) rather than stating what promotes wellbeing in teaching. However, this particular article by Sue Roffey (2012) contends that a focus on teacher wellbeing also promotes student wellbeing. Couldn’t agree more. A tool for wellbeing is certainly being able to create spaces for self. I’m certain that you all have strategies for coping with stress and have areas of your life that are nurturing for you.
