A new study from the University of Utah shows that individuals who describe themselves as being more mindful have more stable emotions and perceive themselves to have better control over their mood and behavior throughout the day.


"People who reported higher levels of mindfulness described better control over their emotions and behaviors during the day. In addition, higher mindfulness was associated with lower activation at bedtime, which could have benefits for sleep quality and future ability to manage stress."

The study of Mindfulness continues to move forward in high gear. It seems results of new studies are released nearly every week. This study focused on peoples perception of themselves as mindful and not on a practice like meditation or exercise.


While is makes sense that someone who is more aware of their internal and external world would feel less like they are tossed back and forth in life, it's great to see study results released.
