How to Develop a Successful Cross-Channel Marketing Strategy

How to Develop a Successful Cross-Channel Marketing Strategy | Milestone 2 | Scoop.it
According to a Harvard Business School study, retailers taking advantage of cross-channel marketing were more profitable than those employing only a single channel.
Maybelle O'Connell's insight:

This article states that according to a Harvard Business School study, retailers taking advantage of multiple channels were more profitable than those employing only a single channel.
What sets you apart from other companies is your ability to ensure you have an overall strategy “creating a cohesive strategy that leverages each unique channel to reach the same goal”
With cross channel marketing you want to get the same message across throughout all your different channels. The first step in achieving this is to create a strong message – who are you? And what is your unique value proposition?
Customers are more likely to remember you if you have the same message across all different channels apposed to if you had mixed messages which would just confuse them. Establishing a clear messages that translates through all channels will create a stronger sense of what you are to consumers and there for they will remember you and what your brand is about.
Companies need to make sure that the strategy they implement fits them as stated in the article “ there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all strategy”

I totally agree with Maybelle that people tend to remember things that pass on their eyes so many times. such as if I saw the same ad on different channel for so many times. it will impact my brain and make me remember the brand. therefore next time when i have to decide to buy the product, the brand the I remember their ad on TV will be the first thing i think of. this is count as one of the stagey marketing that really powerful by control their consumer brain by keep putting the brand image into their memories.
Angela Kim's comment, September 26, 2013 6:05 PM
@Maybelle, this article illustrates how various channels become more effective comparing to just one single channel. and i totally agree, because people can't remember easily espeically markeing advers unless it really attracted them hard or it their own personal wants in that ad. therefore, i think muliple channels are profitabler comparing to the single.

This article highlights instagrams success in creating consumer engagement. Instagram is a social media platform where people are able to share visual content. Instagram registers consumer engagement 18 times that of Facebook and 48 times that of Twitter, according to the latest report from L2 Think Tank. I think that the success of instagram as a platform for brands to engage with costumers is the fact that it is non-evasive. The consumers get a clear image of the product.  “The study found that social media platforms based on visual content engage consumers more than other kinds of social platform”. Although instagram is a core platform for creating consumer engagement it may not work for all brands.
