This article is interesting, an online marketplace I know has achieved high awareness in online shopping is a global company called ASOS. At ASOS you can shop any item of clothing and brands you can think of both high end and lower end, additionally they have their own ASOS brand on offer. The shop caters ofr men, women, kids, maternity, sports and more. They have free international shipping and appeal to an enormous mass market. ASOS saw a gap in the market for an online shopping marketplace that could cater to anyone anywhere in the world which attributes to shopping behaviors. Consumers enjoy shopping for all their needs in one place similar to department store shopping which has always been a hit. Four major things retailers need to focus on is launch holiday shopping promotions early as it will attract consumers at a fast pace. Segmenting your audience and targeting shoppers within your target market with urgent emails of last minute sales and special shopping days will reduce shopper fatigue and encourage a genuine interest and create a strong purchasing desire. Timing, launching new brands at the time when your big purchasers frequent your website and make purchases is key and will reach the right audience. Embrace mobile technologies and create apps and networking for consumers who are interested in convenience. Overall improving engagement during peak seasonal retail times will produce profitable returns on investment and deliver the best results to the desired target market.

It is a good article to read. Email is a good way to communicate with customers as email is an important platform to communicate with each other. Everyone has to check their email couple times everyday , so i think with an attractive topic will attract people attention.

By starting online marketing campaigns early, brands are able to prepare for consumers who shop prior to the holiday season. It is said that by “using email promotions that include free shipping, discounts, and exclusive offers are an instant driver of consumer purchase decisions”. Another way to effectively engage with your intended consumer is to know and understand what segment you are targeting, this helps avoid message fatigue. It is essential that brands release email promotions and other messaging during times when consumers are most likely to be actively online shopping. By doing this brands have a higher chance of getting their consumers attention and are in turn able to promote their content in a more effective manner. I believe mobile technology is a way for consumers to get the necessary information regarding a brands product , out to their consumers. Through mobile technology consumers are directly able to buy and compare what brands and services appeal to them. Promotion through emailing helps consumers to view messaging and interact with a brand on a mobile platform.

As a consumer I understand how direct marketing has affected the way I purchase now. Direct contact to customers attracts revenue, sales and potential customers. Being able to reach consumers and connect directly has become convenient across media applications and businesses and consumers are both benefiting from it.

i found this article to be really helpful, especially because it focuses on measuring results in the events industry. "Most things in life are pretty simple. Its keeping it simple thats hard". This really is the hard part as we get so caught up in the mass of things. This article highlights 3 main factors that any event or industy can look at when measuring results; Does it drive revenue? Does it support your strategy? and does it make sense? These questions can be applied to any form of marketing and it keeps it so simple.

This article is a good example of consumer and brand engagement. Coming up with the right ideas to engage your brand with customers can either make or break a business. I found this idea quite clever as this company used the hash tag to draw in potential customers. Tagging items online and encouraging customers to do so with purchases allow shoppers to follow these tags back to the home website and draws in more revenue. Simple yet rewarding to this business who profited with 30% more engagement rates using the hash tag.

Hash tags are very common and like Kara has said its a very clever idea for the business to get on the same level and relate with the customers, this engages consumers in the brand and results in the business profiting.

This article gives a great insight and understanding on how to adapt a buisness in different cultures, not only reach the audience that already relates to you but how to reach a larger audience aswell. For a business to be a success in another country it is important to be able to relate to those who make up the majority of that country itself, being able to communicate with them in thier own language is the first and most important step overall. Buisness aswell works in the same form, every country has they own way of doing buisness and learning those ways is a very important factor. Another interesting fact which was mentioned was new clients and how they like to interegate companies especially ones they are unfamiliar with. In this case it is vital that information needs to be available anywhere, through web and cloud based applications, social media and mobile computing systems. Today this is more important than ever for a successful buisness.

I agree you must be able to communicate with the people you are marketing your product to! i guess this could relate to McDonalds and when they opened up their first restaurant in India. They knew nothing of the people who lived there and thought it was a great idea to sell beef....

I have found this article on effective communication to be very effective. I agree that communication is a two way street. It is not only important to convey communication but to deliver it in a way that can be understood by the other party, leaving no room for misunderstanding. It is critical that communication be clear and to the point as this may minimize misunderstanding and confusion. I also found it helpful that the writer of the article explains “If necessary, over-explain, and explain the reason why you’re over-explaining”. The more information you get across the clearer and more effective your communication is.

I agree with Kara and the article, I also believe that effective communication is important in every aspect of life whether it be personal or professional or even on the internet. Communicating must be portrayed effectively in order for better understanding and a better result.
