The main idea is to:

- provide a mechanism for the users to have knowledge about oral hygiene and risk factors

- design strategies that could work for them in order to have desirable behaviours and reduce the risks.

- develop a mobile app using a behavior-change gamification framework with leading boards, badges, health knowledge quizzes, competitions, challenges, formation of teams, rewards, and others.

Health JAM: Health Care Social Media Review, 10th Edition: Social Media and Chronic Disease

The tenth edition of Health Care Social Media Review.  This week’s theme is the role of social media in addressing, managing and preventing chronic diseases.   According to the World Health Organization (WHO), chronic diseases, also known as noncommunicable diseases (NCD), are a leading cause of death worldwide.  NCDs encompass four main groups: cancer, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disorders and diabetes; these diseases can affect people of any age and socioeconomic group.  As Kenneth Thorpe observed on HealthWorks Collective, “the key to addressing our greatest 21st century health care challenges—controlling costs while achieving improved health outcomes—lies in attacking chronic disease.”

Lincor Solutions is the leading provider of digital point of care service delivery. Our secure, robust and specifically engineered technology improves patient outcomes, increases efficiencies and reduces costs by delivering clinical applications, administrative functionality, communications, patient education and entertainment services, direct to the bedside.
ET Russell's insight:

Executive Summary:

Across every industry, electronic engagement tools help enhance the customer experience, create efficiency and deliver business value. The same is true in healthcare, where hospitals can improve clinical quality, patient satisfaction and care efficiency through digital patient engagement.

However, even in the U.S. — widely regarded as leaders in the adoption of healthcare computing — only about one-fifth of all hospitals have adopted electronic patient engagement technology, with many countries at a far lower level of penetration than this. i

The U.S. has seen more research in this area than any other country, and so this document uses much of this large body of evidence, to provide an evidence-based analysis of the total value creation — or return on investment — through cost avoidance, revenue generation and quality improvement, for hospitals that implement interactive patient engagement technology capable of delivering education, health information, communication tools and entertainment content, all at the bedside.
