Burnout is a business' worst enemy.  Good article on why.

taniaATenthuse.me's curator insight, August 27, 2013 11:07 AM

Getting away from the normal routine will recharge your batteries and enable you to deal with your business challenges in a more effective way. You will unplug from your situation, see things from a different perspective and bring new ideas to deal with your problems.
Great advice by Eric Wagner that will help you avoid burnout and give you the chance to rejuvenate and refocus. Go for it :)

Ashleigh Dawley's curator insight, August 27, 2013 3:28 PM

While vacation is nice get away from the normal grind of work it can have real benefits to not only your work ethic, but also what your "vision" of work is. I think that the point about how people get stuck working "in" their business that they forget to work "on" their business is really insightful and got me really thinking about myself and our families business.

Social Media Drove Just 1% of Black Friday Online Sales

Social Media Drove Just 1% of Black Friday Online Sales | MGT | Scoop.it
Black Friday online sales hit another record this year, but social media played a relatively small role -- at least when measured directly.
Seth Robinson's insight:
"Social doesn't have the ability so far to drive traffic or sales directly to the site," he says. "It tends to have more of an indirect influence on purchases." Shoppers may not go straight from seeing a product on Facebook or Pinterest to buying it on an ecommerce site, but rather stop off at a few other websites in between before finally making a purchase. The trick is figuring out how to measure how much influence engaging with a product or brand originally on one of those social networks had in the eventual purchase.

Inform. Inspire. Engage
Seth Robinson's insight:

By all means this is legal, the church has the right to decide how to spend their money, as long as they did not make any promises to their congregation. But is is very easy to violate your own ethical standards and we see it taking place very often. Is this money being used to help the church, or is it going straight to the pastor and his own well being. Also what influence does it have on others and the congregation as a whole. Assume everyone could know where you were spending your money, would you do anything different with it??
