How writing can empower women

How writing can empower women | #MexicoDigital | Scoop.it
How writing can empower women - With a majority of women authors and speakers at this year's Jaipur Literature festival, it wouldn't be too bold to say that the lady writers will be leading the show. However, what is even more remarkable is the focus on not just women writers but also on feminist writings and how they have created avenues for expression of women rights.
Bleu's insight:

Does the internet empowers women? apparently there is a trend, a lot of women are really using the internet to blog and express their rights, is this also happening in Mexico? this will be my thesis subject #MBAMCI

Digital Women in Mexico

Digital Women in Mexico | #MexicoDigital | Scoop.it

Bleu's insight:

Until very recently we were able to count with our hand women involved seriously in IT, nowadays the number is strongly increasing...

Women qualities are multiple, between others, they have empathy, strong analytical skills, are multitasking, with leadership capabilities, they focus on results and engage seriously with everything they undertake...

Not only women take advantage of all these qualities, but also companies! a good example is; Ana Paula Blanco, Director of Communications for Google in Latin America. Google believes in diversity and they have implemented special projects to attract young women to their teams.

In Mexico, there is also, Flor Argumedo, President for Comercial Mexicana, which has been recognized as the CIO of the year, being the most representative person in IT in this country.

However, digital entrepreneurship is still scarce between women in Mexico, a 3 to 4% of IT projects globally.

Social Media "measures up" mexican President Peña Nieto and affects Telecom monopolies

Social Media "measures up" mexican President Peña Nieto and affects Telecom monopolies | #MexicoDigital | Scoop.it

Bleu's insight:

According to media analysts and net activists, social media in Mexico became a form of pressure against not only government but as well for Telecom monopolies. The Wall Street Journal and multiple mexican media press published last week how several organized groups succeeded via Twitter that the discussion about the Telecom law was postponed. The law in which they were trying to censure internet for "national security" issues.

This is not the first time mexicans use social media to protest, the case of #Yosoy132, a group of young mexicans critizing Peña Nieto in 2012 was one of the first visible social media movements.

Are Multi-Brand Programs An Effective Way To Engage Hispanics Digitally? - 04/05/2012
Bleu's insight:

Corporate Marketing is really effective within the Hispanic markets. Hispanic multi-brand programs provide two opportunities: cost-efficiency and cultural relevancy.

Hispanic marketing budgets are often limited, or nonexistent, that is why  a multi-brand platform provides an opportunity for smaller brands – with smaller, or no budgets – to share resources with larger brands.

The Web and social media are perfect media for content-focused marketing programs, however most of the Hispanic multi-brand platforms in market today are not fully leveraging their potential....

The Largest Crystals in the World at Naica Crystal Cave, Mexico | When On Earth – Cool Travel Mini Posts

The Largest Crystals in the World at Naica Crystal Cave, Mexico | When On Earth – Cool Travel Mini Posts | #MexicoDigital | Scoop.it

Get a load of those huge, long shafts!

Dig in deep into the Naica Crystal Caves in Chihuahua, Mexico, and get nothing less than massive crystals sizing up to 11 meters in length, 4 meters in diameter, and 55 tons in weight.

For geologists and mineralogists, it’s a real goldmine—except it’s not really made of gold but of selenite, a rare crystallized form of gypsum. The cave conditions are extreme: it has a constant temperature of 58 degrees Celcius and very high humidity. Trekkers are given a suit full of icebags with a respirator when they had to explore the cave. And they gotta move quickly because the longer your stay in there, the more you lose your brain functions, and the more you lose your marbles, the higher the risk you lose your step and get impaled by a crystal to a slow and gruesome death.

If Hispanic-America were a nation, it would be a member of the G-20. In fact, Hispanic-America's purchasing power per capita exceeds that of each of the four BRIC countries.
