Why All the Fuss about Spellings and Style Guides?

Why All the Fuss about Spellings and Style Guides? | MétaTraduction | Scoop.it

If you’re one of them, then wonder no more because I’m going to reveal my main reasons below.

Amaury Lainé's insight:

Even if we do not always fully acknowledge their importance, style guides are a must-have tool for every translator or editor. But between the New Oxford Style Manual, the Chicago Manual of Style, the Associated Press Stylebook and so on, it has become quite challenging to pick up one and stick to it, especially when clients have their own style guides as well! What about you, which one do you use and why?

While machine translation can and does play a significant role in reducing costs and speeding the eDiscovery process, legal professionals should be careful when using any translation service that does not specifically protect data from any use not directly authorized by the client.   After careful examination and consideration, it seems that we “are not quite there yet” with respect to web-based translation technologies.

To be read by anyone in any industry who thinks about using web-based machine translation for confidential or sensitive documentation!
