Warmer soils release additional CO2 into atmosphere; Effect stabilizes over longer term

Warmer soils release additional CO2 into atmosphere; Effect stabilizes over longer term | Messenger for mother Earth | Scoop.it
Warmer temperatures due to climate change could cause soils to release additional carbon into the atmosphere, thereby enhancing climate change – but that effect diminishes over the long term, finds a new study in the journal Nature Climate Change.
CineversityTV's insight:

Not so difficult to understand, water does the same, cutting trees also. We need amjor change in how we use resources Nature offers us.

Shareholders Pressure McDonald's to Report Human Rights Impacts
Huffington Post
On May 23, McDonald's shareholders will vote on a resolution requesting that the company identify and publicly report its human rights impacts.
CineversityTV's insight:

This year's resolution asks McDonald's to go further than producing CEO-signed statements saying it will avoid negative human rights impacts. This resolution asks that the company find out what those impacts are. The greenwashing of exploitation by such corporations, remember WallMart and many more isa first step towards change. But we are very cynical towards "compassion" when corporations are involved.

Fascist Monsanto CEO Hugh Grant told Bloomberg that genetically modified foods are good for poor people who can’t afford organic. “As long as you’ve got money in your back pocket and you drive your station wagon to the supermarket on weekends,” he says, “then it’s out of sight out of mind, so far.” “It” refers to starvation and malnutrition, which afflict large numbers of people in developing nations (and in the US, too).
