The South Melbourne Commons will run a sequence of permaculture gardening courses. Each gardening series will build on the knowledge of the previous and run over several weekends. This allows participants to better understand and try the gardening principles in their own garden. There will have a variety of other specialised gardening workshops at the same time. We are looking for volunteers to grow and supply produce for the first Home Harvest Regional Feast. The feast will be held in Eltham (Victoria), so anyone who can get there is welcome to take part. Sign up as a grower and receive a free seasonal meal created using Grower’s produce at the feast. All registered growers will receive a small gift of vegetable seeds.

Maribyrnong City Council has committed funding to expand the Braybrook Community Garden. The garden will be a safe and inclusive place to grow fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers, learn new skills and meet people. The garden will be designed and built over the next six months. You are invited to attend community meetings to discuss how the garden should be designed and developed. There are three dates, and all will be held at Braybrook Community Centre.
