Infographics are a visual representation of data. When students create infographics, they are using information, visual, and technology literacies. This page includes links to help you develop formative or summative assessments that have students creating infographics to showcase their mastery of knowledge.
So we thought we’d start an ongoing collection–that is, one that is updated to reflect trends and changes–of the best resources for teaching with the iPad.
This will include resources from all of the best sources, from Apple’s own stuff to TeachThought to edutopia to MindShift to DMLCentral to Jackie Gerstein and more. We can update it, or make it a wiki to crowdsource the process, or you can add suggestions in the comments below. Based on the activity of the comments, and the sharing of the post, we’ll decide how to handle it moving forward.
Great resource for a 1:1 iPad classroom/school. However, this is a great model for any 1:1 setup. You truly need to consider the Teacher/Student/Parent paradigm when deciding on applications that enhance the learning environment. Where there is not workflow vision the people will perish.

Why do I characterize this explanation as a flipped classroom and not flipped learning? Because, contrary to popular belief, these terms are not synonymous. Yet nearly every article written on these topics mistakenly equates them.

One of my challenges this summer is to engage my teachers using Social Media. Keep in mind...my task was to bring the two campuses into the 21st Century, but the mindset was stuck in the 19th. Getting people onto email was my year 1 challenge, imagine the fight I have to using twitter, Google+ and others. However, easing the initial fears of new technology has been my mission and I must say, I'm ahead in my 3 year plan. However, the Social Media block is still there and I've come to the conclusion that it's due to a lack of understanding that drives the fear to explore. However, In every Montessori and IB classroom, the teachers are always equipping students with the notion that they can do anything if they simply face their fears head on. Well, I think it's time that educators follow their own advice.
"When you begin a new iMovie project, you have a choice of creating a movie or a trailer. A trailer follows a template to create a Hollywood-style movie advertisement. iMovie for iOS has 14 trailer templates, and each has its own musical score and graphics. To make your own trailer, choose a template, insert your text, and fill each shot with a video or photo."
With any video project, it is advisable to have students to develop some sort of storyboard to help guide the thought process along with the evolution of the final product. In turn, not only does the learning become more meaningful, but also opens the door to see how what they learn can be applied to global situations in order to make an impact anywhere.

Pinterest isn't just for wedding themes, DIY craft inspiration, and pretty pictures — it can also be a great educational tool! Here are some creative ways educators are using Pinterest to enhance the learning experience.
Giving students a voice in critical to learning. I have used SoundCloud for music sharing purposes, but I wasn't aware of the group aspect in SoundCloud. Students are already using it socially, why not "Meet Them Where They Are" and begin using it in the classroom. Haiku allows for full integration which will continue to allow single sign-on with Google.

Peggo's packed with great features like integrated search, automatic silence removal, audio normalization, subtrack offsets, and artist and title tags. Peggo automatically removes unwanted silence from the beginning and end of videos so you get a beautiful MP3 with just the good stuff. In addition, Peggo also normalizes the volume of every recording to the same, comfortable level so you never have to reach for the volume dial between MP3s again.
Many times the audio from a YouTube video is all you need to have an impact in the classroom. This looks like a useful, and apparently legal tool that extracts the audio and creates an mp3 file for you. I will play around with it to see what the limitations are, but I can see the music industry having some issues.
