Mind Mapping: Online Collaboration Tool

Mind Mapping: Online Collaboration Tool | Media Studies and Praxis | Scoop.it

Although this article focuses on education, mindmapping can be a great planning and coordination tool for any kind of group project, whether collaborators are physically copresent or geographically separated. -- Howard

"Online collaboration has become very popular in both education and business. We now have the ability to easily and freely share all file types using different cloud based platforms. People working collectively on a project or assignment no longer need to be in the same room or even in the same country for that matter.

Collaborative platforms have enabled educators to create online learning environments where students can benefit from sharing ideas and communicating with each other, their mentors and external organizations."

From Arrested Development to Dr. Who, How Binge Watching Is Changing Our Culture | Wired Opinion | Wired.com | Media Studies and Praxis | Scoop.it
Why do we binge watch? One way to answer this question is to say, well, we binge on TV for the same reason we binge on food. And these psychological factors are no doubt apt.
Debbie James's insight:

How does this differ from watching the DVD of a series, one season after another? Or, watching an entire season on Hulu or similar? From experience, audiences can connect more deeply with the characters and storyline. Plus, it is more fun than waiting, waiting, waiting for an episode to air, then have to wade through countless ads.

The lines at SxSW definitely tell the story: this isn't just the year of the story, it's the decade of coordinated, additive and interactive storytelling across multiple media channels for everything from entertainment and branding to education and journalism. It all starts with the story.
