Gary Neville's punditry is the best, but others need to raise their game

Gary Neville's punditry is the best, but others need to raise their game | media and technology | Scoop.it
Michael Cox: The Sky man is celebrated for his meticulous research, neutrality and willingness to argue against the consensus, but this should be the general standard
Jason Williams's insight:

This is by far the most accurate and best quote i have heard in a while!! I totally agree with this statement it is so true. Gary neville is defintlly a top quality pundit, he says it how it is and is never biast. gary neville treats punditry the same way he treated professional football, where he succeeded primarily through hard work and intense preparation, rather than natural talent. an example of neville not being biast is that despite being a symbol of Manchester United, Neville appears neutral. This is actually more important when applying to individuals rather than clubs, and is in stark contrast to his colleague Jamie Redknapp, who remains determined not to criticise friends – which is particularly difficult considering he appears to be mates with, or related to, a number of key Premier League characters.

Neville's popularity is essentially rooted in three factors. First, he argues against the consensus. Last season, for example, when Chelsea were struggling to adapt to André Villas-Boas's high defensive line, they conceded a goal when Ashley Cole was stationed behind the rest of the Chelsea defence, playing an opponent onside. To every other pundit, and to the vast majority of television viewers, the problem was clear – Cole was in a bad position. But Neville said the opposite. Cole, he said, was the only Chelsea defender in a good position – the other three were to blame. now since he said that people now can look at this and actually can totally see how right neville was with this spot.

Jason Williams's insight:

so merchandice is a big factor at any football club. the reason behind this is that it brings in money for the clubs and also gives the fans that little bit of being part of the club and having and wearing there colours i agree with the idea of having merchandice but i do feel that the prices of some of the merchandice is right as some can be quite pricey so some may be put off with buying it.

Footbonaut: Dortmund's Secret Weapon

Footbonaut: Dortmund's Secret Weapon | media and technology | Scoop.it
Since November, Borussia Dortmund has used a new device, the Footbonaut, to hone the skills of its players.
Jason Williams's insight:

This is great !! this has to be one of the best things around in football at the moment and you can see why considering borrusia dortmund Won the german league last year and have now reached the final of the chamipons league after beating real madrid in the semi (4-3) on aggregate. and this all can be put down to them being the only club to use the footbonaut. the footbonaut is a device which gets you to recieve the the ball quickly and then quickly pass it of into the correct zone. this device has increased the ability and skill of the borrusia squad and this is quite possibly the main reason for them doing so well in these last 2 seasons since they have been using it.

This amazing peice of technology could be the secret to footballing sucsess!

the players must get the ball into a desired target and hit it they are given a target to hit and they have to try their best.

this will have a great impact on the footballing industry because all of the teams will want it if its a sucess but could people start complaining about it?

Arsenal's new Emirates sponsorship deal to fund transfers and salaries

Arsenal's new Emirates sponsorship deal to fund transfers and salaries | media and technology | Scoop.it
Arsène Wenger will have more money to spend on salaries and transfer fees under Arsenal's new £150m sponsorship deal with Emirates Airlines
Jason Williams's insight:

I feel that this is very good move for arsenal football club. the reason for me thinking this is that now with this new sponsorship deal arsenal are now going to be able to compete in fighting for a top 2 place in the premier league as they have now been given the chance to bring in top quality players as they now do not have to worry about the amount of the transfer fees and the saleries of the players. this also means now that they will now be able to stop brininging in average players and can now get world class players so that they can now try and form the invincibles once again.  and will be able to put up a good fight with the likes of manchester united , manchester city and chelsea.

New Look adidas Home Kit For Guardiola's Bayern Munich - Football Shirts

New Look adidas Home Kit For Guardiola's Bayern Munich - Football Shirts | media and technology | Scoop.it
Jason Williams's insight:

Once again bayern munich have gone for an adidas kit for the up coming season. this new munich shirt looks great but that is not the only good thing about the shirt! the mian reason i like this shirt and also the players from bayer like it is because of the climacool fabric which has been added to the shirt for enhanced breathability and improved performance. i personally believe that this shirt will be a big hit with the bayern squad but not just that but other players whos team have adidas as trhere kit makers as they will all have the new climacool fabric in the shirt which means players will be able to feel more comfortable while playing as have having the enhanced breathability means that you are not going to sweat as much in the shirt and also means that while playing you will be able to keep your performace up throughtout the game cause of the breathability.

What could we learn from Joey Barton?

What could we learn from Joey Barton? | media and technology | Scoop.it
Footballer Joey Barton is a convicted criminal who's reinvented himself on Twitter. But what's behind his philosophical tweets?
Jason Williams's insight:

I believe that the reason behind Joey Bartons philosophical tweets are because he is trying to prove himself to people that he has changed from the convicted criminal that he used to be. this comes across from him using quotes from the influences of George Orwell and Friedrich Nietzsche. Barton tweeted his reaction about the riots with this tweet "Violence always comes from a place of misunderstanding and low to zero self-worth, well mine did anyway"  which was the highlight by the media which clearly showed his changing ways. but barton does not help himself with silly tweets which end up with him getting bans like the tweet about thiago silva where he tweeted saying thiago silva is "an overweight ladyboy". from this tweet Barton recieved a 2 match ban which hs not helped him with the public but one thing about Barton is that once he does hang up his boots he will be a prime suspect for media companies as he is is exactley what they are looking for and says how he sees it. in my opinion i believe joey barton has changed alot from the days where he used to be a handful and punched Ousmane Dabo

Goal-line technology Q&A

Goal-line technology Q&A | media and technology | Scoop.it
Answers to the big questions on goal-line technology as the International Football Association Board approves GoalRef and Hawk-Eye
more...
Jason Williams's comment, May 8, 2013 6:59 AM
goal line technology is a must need to be brought in. and finally the football association board have come to the decision to bring it in. so far in the world of football there has been a number of occasions where goal line technology has been needed as there have been clear goals which have not been given, an example of this is in the 2010 world cup where frank lampad hit a shot which hit the cross bar and bounced over the line but was not given as a goal which was unfair on england as if that was awarded then it would have been 2-2 nd would have given england more hope on getting into the semi final. in other sports like tennis, rugby and cricket they have Hawk-eye which decides on if the ball has gone out in tennis or for rugby if its try or not and for cricket to see if its LBW , so why have they had the hawk-eye for these sports for so long and not for football where problems are occuring time and time again. so in my opinion it needs to be brought in soon to stop this agro.
