San Francisco Art Dealer Mayer Flaks Attends Art Festivals | Mayer Flaks | Scoop.it

Mayer Flaks is an art dealer in San Francisco who attends many of the art and cultural festivals held in the city and surrounding communities.

Mayer Flaks's insight:

There are art and cultural festivals held in San Francisco every year. Some art festivals are free and open to the public while others require the purchase of a ticket. Some more exclusive art shows are invitation only and prestigious art dealers like San Francisco art dealer Mayer Flaks are quick to accept their invites.

One of the art festivals Mayer Flaks enjoys attending every year is the Contemporary & Modern Art Fair. This year, the fair takes place May 16th to May 19, 2013. Mayer Flaks will be attending this fair which takes place at Fort Mason Center Festival Pavilion. "I purchased the Preview Pass which includes access to the opening night reception and opening night party," says Mayer Flaks.

The Preview Pass is the most expensive of the three ticket options and is the only ticket that permits access on May 16th. The other ticket options include the Multi-Day ticket from the 17th to the 19th or the purchase of a 1 Day ticket. Each ticket price gets progressively cheaper but the Preview Pass purchased by Mayer Flaks is $150.00.

"It is the only ticket I'd consider buying," says art dealer Mayer Flaks. The Preview Pass ticket includes admission to all art fair days as well as VIP Lounge Access and invitation to VIP tours and events. For art dealers like Mayer Flaks, gaining VIP access is must in order to stay on the top of his field of expertise and meet the people who matter most in the art community.

The Contemporary & Modern Art Fair is just one of the many art fairs Mayer Flaks attends every year. Living in San Francisco, there is never a shortage of festivals or cultural events to attend. Even the free outdoor sidewalk fairs allow him to meet talented people. Mayer Flaks attends nearly every art festival in his area and even occasionally travels out of state in order to attend other large and prestigious art fairs and festivals. He attends both by invitation and by purchasing tickets. By making regular appearances, other art dealers and art buyers know that Mayer Flaks is still in the industry of buying and promoting art and artists.

Alaskan Vacation Planned by San Francisco Art Dealer Mayer Flaks

Mayer Flaks is an art dealer in San Francisco. After years of hard work, he has planned an Alaskan vacation for himself.

Mayer Flaks's insight:

Mayer Flaks has spent years helping upcoming and unknown talented artists receive greater recognition for their work. Making connections between artists, other art dealers, and art purchasers can be stressful and tiring work. While he takes time out to go for walks or occasionally hike, San Francisco art dealer Mayer Flaks decided it was time to take an extended break for himself.

Mayer Flaks decided to book a week long Alaskan cruise after some mild prodding by friends and family. "I hadn't realized I was getting so over-worked until people said I looked tired. A friend had asked when was the last time I took a vacation and I realized it had been a while," says Mayer Flaks.

"I booked a 7-day long cruise. It leaves from Seattle in August. There are five port of calls on the trip with three of them in Alaska," says Mayer Flaks. The cruise is not only a chance for Mayer Flaks to take a break but continues to connect him to the world of fine arts. On his cruise, there is scheduled a fine art auction allowing guests to see some of the best artwork produced in the past century.

Mayer Flaks fully intends on enjoying himself on his cruise. He plans on taking advantage of the spa and play his luck in the ship's grand casino. Mayer Flaks also looks forward to evenings attending the various entertainment venues planned for the ship. "I look forward to experiencing everything on the ship but I look forward to seeing the Alaskan coast line," says Mayer Flaks.

Mayer Flaks chose the date of his cruise carefully. During the summer months, there is always a chance to spot whales from the deck of the ship. Mayer Flaks hopes his ship will be fortunate enough to run by a pod of whales. "I got a great deal on this cruise and was actually surprised by the low cost. I hope to take some great pictures with my new Nikon camera," says Mayer Flaks. The cruise is not the only Alaskan vacation planned by Mayer Flaks, he hopes to vacation in-land at one of Alaska's beautiful lodges.

San Francisco Art Dealer Mayer Flaks Believes in San Francisco SPCA

Mayer Flaks thinks others should donate to the San Francisco SPCA after he found a kitten while walking.

Mayer Flaks's insight:

Mayer Flaks lives and works in San Francisco, California as an art dealer. Most of his world focuses and revolves around the world of art. He attends many art festivals both in San Francisco and other locations around the United States. Besides working as an art dealer, Mayer Flaks enjoys taking walks along the edge of the San Francisco bay.

It was in the early part of 2013, Mayer Flaks was the savior of a small cat he found while taking one of his routine walks. "I saw the kitten and decided to wait a while to see if anyone would claim the cat or if its mother would show up. After waiting a while, it was apparent to me it was alone so I took it home," says Mayer Flaks.

Being the caring and responsible individual he always is, Mayer Flaks promptly made an appointment to ensure the health and safety of the kitten. "I wasn't really sure what to do with the kitten so the night I found it I gave it a can of tuna. At the vet, I learned it was a male kitten and he was in good health," says Mayer Flaks.

Mayer Flaks promptly adopted the healthy little kitten that he affectionately named Milo da Vinci. Adopting the small cat called to attention the need to care for dogs and cats homeless or in need of care in the United States. "After adopting Milo it seemed like whenever I turned on the television I couldn't help but notice the commercials advocating for donations to support animals," says Mayer Flaks.

Mayer Flaks knows that anyone who wants to can go online to the San Francisco SPCA website in order to make a charitable donation. "The site is very user friendly and they have different donation options such as monthly or a single donation. I have not personally made a donation," says Mayer Flaks. Donations will help the San Francisco SPCA improve the lives of cats and dogs by providing veterinary care, spaying and neutering animals, and increase efforts to assist in animal adoptions.
