The large hype about the Mayan 2012 doomsday intensified enough to make NASA put out a press released that dismisses the theory. Similar types of events took place in other countries such as Russia, China, and France. The doomsday has lead to people of Serbia to migrate to Mount Rtanj because it is believed to have “special energy” that can protect them.

Many Mayan elderly are upset the assumption of people believing the Ancient calendar of the Mayans says that the world would end in 2012. The signs of the Ancient Mayans are misread about the prophecy, for they really mean the world will take a transformation, not an end.  The Dec. 21, 2012 is supposed to be the start of the fifth sun and the rebirth of the earth as the “Solar meridian crossing the galactic equator and the Earth aligning with the center of the galaxy.”
