On Oprah Winfrey's television show Super Soul Sunday, Oprah interviews Dr. Maya Angelou in which she speaks on various topics such as: Maya's memory on her unfit mother as a child, having her son at 16 years old, and her books. Dr. Angelou gave a brief synopsis on her first book "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings." Oprah asked Dr. Angelou, "In your own words why does the caged bird sings?" Angelou responded, "Because it has to. It is the only way that the bird will survive."

Dr. Angelou describes in her interview with Oprah that her mother was terrible to small children , but when they got older she was the best mother in the world. She was irresistible to Angelou.

There are so many precious words that Dr. Angelou shares but my one that keeps me going is when she says " Be the rainbow in someone else's cloud." That is so important because you never know what somebody is going through. You could be there saving grace to help them through there issues.
