The blogosphere has been cybersalivating over the potential debut of Google Glass supposedly to arrive in time for the Christmas holidays, 2013. As if the $1500 price tag is a reasonable price point for the Average Joe consumer?
Personally, I can't stand just seeing someone touching their eye putting in a contact lense so these iOptiks don't appeal to me as much as Google glasses. However, for the normal person, to be able to wear an invisible device that can connect you to all sorts of augmented media is a very enticing offer. Like the article says, particularly for those who already wear contact lenses.
It will be interesting to see if the Google Glass project becomes a financial success. $1500 is alot of money. If it does gain traction, then it seems an obvious conclusion for devices such as the iOptik's to be the next generation. Convenience is king.
