Blog post addresses some of the issues with technology integration; issues all teachers of technology curriculums should be aware of, even taking them into consideration when consulting on the new Australian Curriculum Technology document.

 

The authors suggests using the TPACK framework for introducing essential knowledge required by teachers when teaching technolgies, as this essential knowledge understanding can calm frustrations and increase likeyl successes.  

 

The author also emphasises that teachers should not be expected to be technological experts, but guides/facilitators of technological learning.  They do however need to be able to undo or fix mistakes, know how to share or export work and know howstudents will engage(accessibility), with the chosen technological instrument.

 

While some of the blog seems too informative the key goal is this, teachers, like students are learners and technology creates hurdles for users all the time.  While most classrooms are time poor, and technology can require large amounts of time, well prepared teachers can facilitate engaging learning of/with technology.

This blog looks at issues surrounding integration of technology into the classroom and aims to provide some suggestions as to how to address them. TPACK is suggested by the author as a useable framework for technology teaching and would also help inegrate technology into the maths curriculum. It also focuses on how time poor teachers need to take any technology education they receive and be able to develop this into classroom activities for their students. Learning,making mistakes and progressing are all important factors for both students and teachers alike.

The questions can be based on exam questions, or directly from past exam questions.  The students can be asked about their own experiences and say whether the textual information has any application to the society in which they live, e.g. How does the information help us?

I stumbled onto this site after looking for some experts to follow.  Watching the short video clips hurt my head, A LOT!

Integrating technology in your teaching requires beforehand planning and structuring. It also predisposes the existence of a set of learning goals you  want to achieve through the integration of this technology in the class. So, the process is highly structured and pre-arranged and nothing is left for " happy accidents ".

I think many teachers struggle to truly integrate technology into their classrooms. I believe their is the common misconception that if you are 'using' technology you are integrating it into your teaching and learning. However there is a difference between the two.
