If you are looking at a way to support the Common Core State Standards in Math, look no further that Math Playground that has aligned their engaging games and Thinking Blocks to the Common Core math standards. Math Playground is an action packed math site for elementary and middle school students featuring math games, math word problems, math worksheets, logic puzzles, and math videos. "PhET provides fun, interactive, research-based simulations of physical phenomena for free. To help students visually comprehend concepts, PhET simulations animate what is invisible to the eye through the use of graphics and intuitive controls such as click-and-drag manipulation, sliders and radio buttons. In order to further encourage quantitative exploration, the simulations also offer measurement instruments including rulers, stop-watches, voltmeters and thermometers. PhET simulations offers multiple means of representation and action and multiple means of engagement. Matt Bergman has shared an excellent online resource to have students learn their times table in many different languages. "In order to make connections with materials, our students often need different ways to express how they learn and understand information. Learn Your Tables International is a very unique site that helps students learn their times tables in an interactive way. Simply choose the language of your choice and begin. An automated sequence of times tables will appear on your screen. Need to review your 10's, 7's, or 3's? The website will automatically go through different times tables to help you review. The Talking Calculator app can be used to support math comprehension, assist students with math-related learning difficulties, as well as students with visual challenges. WebMath has been around for over a decade and it is a site that contains explanations and tools for learning and practicing dozens of math-related exercises, from simple functions to complex calculus. Composed of forms to fill-in it returns analysis of a problem and in many cases provides a step-by-step solution. This can support students in understanding math processes. The only downside is that kids could potentially put in problems and get their answers (and work shown) without actually doing the legwork. Parent or teacher involvement is key when kids use this site for homework.

I stand firm on the idea that students will dig deeper and work harder if they not only are allowed to create in class, but also are able to share. This project hit both those, plus pushed them to research and gather information on their own.
Each app for Grades 1-5 are comprehensive with virtually infinite number of questions covering wide range of topics. All the content is aligned to common core standards. These apps are used to differentiate math instruction and assigned practice. What you may like so much about this app is the variety of concepts that you are able to individualize. For example, if a student needs additional work on the concept of time, then you can setup the app to only give questions related to time. Questions first appear simple, but then become more challenging as questions are answered correctly. If you prefer, Splash Math will send you a weekly update indicating the progress of each student.

Math Paper has been developed with the principles of UDL in mind, so it’s a tool that can be used effectively and independently by anyone, including individuals with motor challenges or cognitive processing issues.
