This document comes from the Institute of Mathematics and Education out of the University of Arizona.  The Math Progressions documents describe the development of mathematics across grade levels with explicit examples.  Since the Math Progressions are based on cognitive development and the logical development of mathematics, it is being referenced by publishers as they market their Common Core instructional materials.

Yes! Everyone can be great in Math. No one is exempted as long as you have the confidence to study it with all your heart. If you really can't, then let your child be. Let your child not to hate Math and the idea of having posters related to Math posted on your child's wall will surely help in developing his/her Math skills.

Teaching Mathematics using figures and images is a good idea especially when teaching kids. This type of activity will surely enhance the interests of kids since they're creative thinking and imagination are also being improved. I will surely try this mechanism to my children for them to effectively learn Mathematics with ease.

Curiosity is NASA's newest Mars rover -- scheduled to land on the Red Planet on Aug. 5, 2012. It's the biggest rover yet, carrying multiple instruments as well as 17 cameras! It's essentially a laboratory on wheels designed to investigate whether Mars had or has conditions that could support microbial life. Get a rundown of the mission in this Curiosity Overview. Then bring Curiosity into your classroom with the lessons provided.

 

The NASA/JPL Education Office works with educators -- both classroom teachers and informal educators -- to provide tools, resources and ideas for teaching Earth science, space science, mathematics and robotics.
