1:1 iPad Technology Institute

Attendees of the Technology Institute will learn how iPads are successfully used in a 1:1 environment by all 1,500 grade 9 & 10 students at Minnetonka High School and about the program's expansion to 3,100 grade 8-11 students next year. In-depth background information on everything from the planning, budget, and communication of the pilot program to the training, implementation, and findings will be shared. You will have the opportunity to hear from district staff as well as ten high school classroom teachers and some students about how iPads are used daily in teaching and learning. More information about Minnetonka's iPad pilot can be found online. Lunch, drinks and snacks are included with registration. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.

The scope and sequence for our teacher iPad trainings, overview of techniques for support, and best practices learned will be shared.   Schoology Peter Gausmann, Instructional Technology Support Teacher 6-12 Come see how teachers are engaging students in online learning with Schoology, Minnetonka's e-learning platform. The ease of use, especially for staff and students who are accustomed to Facebook, will be explored. Major features of Schoology will be highlighted as well as a brief description of the back-end administration.   App Overview Ben Stanerson, Teacher on Special Assignment for iPad Instructional Technology Get details about what apps Minnetonka uses in the 1:1 iPad program. Learn how students and teachers are using them in the classroom. See examples of their use and students products.    iOS Management Julie Carter, Executive Director of Technology Jeff Noyes, Minnetonka High School Media Specialist Learn about the background of our process for setting up and managing 720 student iPads, buying and distributing apps, our synching process and more.
