The selling of the Scott Brown is heavy on the "I'm a sports fan like you," and heavy on the "I'm Independent," while devoid of "what I've accomplished for Mass." and devoid of "what I plan to do for Mass."  with six more years.

Elizabeth Warren Supports Small Businesses | MetroWestDaily

Elizabeth Warren Supports Small Businesses | MetroWestDaily | Massachusetts Senate Race 2012 | Scoop.it

During my career I have worked for and with large multi-national companies as well small entrepreneurial and family businesses around the world. The needs of these different entities are dramatically different.

The current Massachusetts Senatorial campaign has two candidates whose views could not be further apart about how to help small businesses succeed. Senator Brown’s claims in the first debate versus the truth, and what he voted and lobbied for should match. Unfortunately, much of it didn’t.

Letter: Scott Brown's tactics betray Karl Rove's influence | SouthCoastToday

Letter: Scott Brown's tactics betray Karl Rove's influence | SouthCoastToday | Massachusetts Senate Race 2012 | Scoop.it

Scott Brown's actions and campaign have sunk to a new low, tarnishing the nice guy image he has fashioned for the voters of Massachusetts when a pack of his supporters trashed Elizabeth Warren's rally in Dorchester with Indian war whoops and tomahawk chops in the presence of at least two of his top campaign operatives.

This not only insulted Native Americans, but spoke to Brown's complicity in this offensive stunt. Although Brown denies he knew of this outrageous example of dirty politics, one wonders if he cut class in law school when they discussed circumstantial evidence. His denials ring hollow and show his character as a flawed disciple of Karl Rove's style of slash and destroy.

Scott Brown's campaign manager Jim Barnett worked for Karl Rove 2000-2001.

Elizabeth Warren leads Sen. Scott Brown, 48 percent to 44 percent among likely voters, in a private Massachusetts Senate poll of likely voters conducted for a Boston-based consulting and research firm. Her advantage is within the survey's margin of error. The same poll showed Brown leading Warren by 10 percentage points in January and by 14 in April.

A WBUR/MassInc poll released Monday pegged the race at 49 percent for Warren and 45 percent for Brown.

Letter: Warren stays on positive course | WaPo

Letter: Warren stays on positive course | WaPo | Massachusetts Senate Race 2012 | Scoop.it

Having recently returned to Washington after three years in Boston, I read with great interest the Sept. 25 front-page article “The gloves come off in Mass. contest: Senate rivals Brown and Warren go negative as race remains close.” But I must ask: Why are both candidates included in that headline?

The article notes that Sen. Scott Brown continues to accuse challenger Elizabeth Warren — without evidence — of claiming Native American heritage for professional advancement. But the only evidence presented against Warren is that she is urging voters to consider the senator’s votes and the national consequences of a Republican Senate.

Since when is highlighting the votes of an opponent taking “a sharp turn off the high road”?

Who was the Washington Lobbyist Warren hired in 2003? | NatJrnl

Who was the Washington Lobbyist Warren hired in 2003? | NatJrnl | Massachusetts Senate Race 2012 | Scoop.it

Elizabeth is the author of several books and many academic articles about what has happened to the middle class in this country - about how incomes have stayed flat while expenses like health care and child care and mortgages have gone way up. She's been alarmed about the results of her research for years, and for years she's been frustrated that Washington just doesn't get it.

Using advance money from her book The Two Income Trap, Elizabeth hired people who work in Washington to help get her research on how middle class families have gotten chipped at, squeezed, and hammered to policymakers and others. The person Elizabeth worked with at the Raben Group was Melody Barnes, a former staffer for Senator Kennedy and former Obama White House official.

This was a part of her career-long advocacy to level the playing field for families and consumers that too often get the short end of the stick in Washington, where Wall Street banks and other big corporations can hire armies of lobbyists to do their bidding. It is Elizabeth's life's work and it's what she'll fight for in the U.S. Senate, too.

Really, Sen. Brown? Toma-hawk chops? War yells? | Bay State Banner

Really, Sen. Brown? Toma-hawk chops? War yells? | Bay State Banner | Massachusetts Senate Race 2012 | Scoop.it

The behavior of Brown’s staff, captured on cringe-inducing video, is deeply ignorant and the unsurprising result of Brown’s own deeply ignorant, race-baiting comments.

What they did — and his indulgent response to it — falls well beneath the dignity of his office and reveals a blithe willingness to insult an entire race of people in order to mock just one person. Those Native Americans who initially accepted his accusations as well-intended and sincere must now watch in sadness and anger as his staff mimics ceremonial chants and the despised “tomahawk chop.”

My maternal grandmother, who died when I was very young, was a beautiful full Cherokee Native American.
