How to Speed Up Your Content Curation Process

How to Speed Up Your Content Curation Process | MarketingHits | Scoop.it
Do you want to share helpful content, but don’t know where to find it? Are you looking for tools to speed up your content curation process? In this article I’ll show you how to find and share relevant content in a snap.

Why Content Curation?

If you want to be the go-to expert in your niche, you need to provide more value than the other guys. Content curation—sharing relevant articles from several sources—is an important way to provide that value to your clients, fans and readers.

Modern marketing has changed significantly. It’s less about promotion and more about helping your ideal clients make informed decisions. Buyers expect to be fed relevant and helpful information.

Good content curation pinpoints potential clients’ needs, wants, desires and problems, then offers answers and solutions. Sharing other people’s content is a great way to quickly become the recognized expert in your field.

It can take a lot of time to find and evaluate content that’s good enough to share. What if you could save that time and use it to be more productive? Keep reading because I’m going to show you my favorite content curation tools—Feedly and If This Then That (IFTTT)—and explain how to use them together to make content curation much easier.

People with internet connections have probably noticed a lot of Weird Al Yankovic songs popping up in their feeds lately.

Every day for the past seven days, the reigning king of pop parody has released a new music video, each produced in partnership with a different content studio or artist, to promote "Mandatory Fun," his first album in three years.

Some videos were produced with some of the largest content portals on the Internet, including College Humor, Funny or Die, Yahoo Screen and Nerdist, which worked on "Tacky," the star-studded parody of Pharrell's "Happy." Others, like "Word Crimes," were produced by independent artists like Jarrett Heather, whose work Mr. Yankovic admires.

4 Simple Ways to Harvest Reviews From Happy Customers

4 Simple Ways to Harvest Reviews From Happy Customers | MarketingHits | Scoop.it

Recommendations from people we know ranks #1, not surprisingly, as the most trusted form of advertising, according to the ‘Under the Influence: Consumer Trust in Advertising‘ report by Nielsen. In other words, word-of-mouth advertising!

Word-of-mouth advertising has taken on a whole new meaning in our online world. It’s no longer me telling you and a handful of others I know about a good or bad experience I’ve had with a business.

Today, word-of-mouth advertising might begin as an online comment on Facebook, Twitter or Yelp, but that comment has the potential to go much farther than my family,  friends and others that I know. It has the potential to spread to hundreds and even thousands of others. It might not, but it can.

Does Your Organization’s Social Needs Mean You’re Always Alone?

Does Your Organization’s Social Needs Mean You’re Always Alone? | MarketingHits | Scoop.it

The demand for social media has no end in sight. Yet, every new social media network seems to take us by surprise as we try to invent new ways to “engage”. The business mantra of doing “more with less” was coined long before we knew the extent and implications of satisfying multiple internal departments and their social media reporting needs. Each department’s “imposition” eats into our budgets and ultimately leaves fewer resources on the table to do what we really want as an organization.

The irony is that if we look a little deeper into how the business operates we might find that we have some of the work done already. By adopting a more holistic approach to social media marketing we can reduce costs and even create a competitive advantage.

To develop a social media strategy that tackles multiple departments it must be structured to take advantage of standardized processes as well as disciplines already established within the organization. This creates synergy and avoids reinventing the wheel each time a new social media network comes into the fold.
