A New Social ROI Framework (Infographic)

A New Social ROI Framework (Infographic) | Marketing & Webmarketing | Scoop.it

"Marketers across the globe are trying to answer the most important question about what they do – namely, can they quantify the value they provide to the business and show that the funds and resources invested in marketing, including social marketing, do indeed pay back? Our State of Social Media Marketing Report confirms that measuring social marketing ROI is the leading challenge for marketers, as indicated by 57% of respondents.

To address the social ROI question, Awareness developed a new framework for measuring social marketing value. We posit that social marketing value has two sides – overall social marketing contributions to the business over time (usually measured year-over year), and specific social marketing contributions to customer engagement and sales (usually campaign-based and short-term)..."

The SEO Puzzle: The Most Important Pieces [Infographic]

The SEO Puzzle: The Most Important Pieces [Infographic] | Marketing & Webmarketing | Scoop.it

It doesn’t really matter how much you study it, it’s almost impossible to get the perfect SEO (Search Engine Optimization) score for any long period of time.

Each search engine has their own algorithm to rank websites, and as if that wasn’t complicated enough, they change that algorithm frequently in order to perfect it and make sure that the same sites don’t hog up the top positions simply because they’ve figured out the x-factor in the algorithm to dodge other more popular sites that have the traffic, content mass, and extensive Internet presence enough to be ranked at the top.

I would probably need an endless number of articles to cover all the different aspects of the perfect SEO, and if I tried to do that, I would probably not be able to pinpoint it anyway.

Content Must be Engaging and Compelling to be Successful, Say B2B Marketers

Content Must be Engaging and Compelling to be Successful, Say B2B Marketers | Marketing & Webmarketing | Scoop.it

" Effective content doesn’t depend on SEO friendliness or quality of editing, say B2B marketers responding to an Optify survey[download page] released this month. Instead, it’s all about engaging and compelling storytelling. Asked the 3 most important elements of successful content, survey respondents resoundingly chose this element (81.5%), far ahead of others such as originality (52.6%) and custom content (49.2%).

This focus on storytelling may be why these marketers tend to see longer content formats and personal contact as more effective..."

A Crystal Clear Explanation of How Social Media Influences SEO

A Crystal Clear Explanation of How Social Media Influences SEO | Marketing & Webmarketing | Scoop.it

How social context is playing a role in SEO and how marketers can adjust their strategies to match the changing character of search.

"More and more, search engines have begun to incorporate social context into their search results. And it's high time we dive into what role social context is playing in SEO, and how marketers can adjust their strategies to match the changing character of search. So without further ado, let's get into the nitty gritty of what's being called "social search" and learn how it affects marketers.

"Social search" is an evolving term for the way in which search engines factor a user's social network -- also referred to as social graph -- into how results are displayed after a search query. In social search, content that has a social connection to you in some way is prioritized. A social connection could mean someone you are linked to via Facebook, Twitter, or any other major social network. Alternately, some forms of social search prioritize content that has been shared by social media influencers, even if those experts aren't directly tied to you".

The Marketing Tactic that Social Media Marketers Often Forget | Business 2 Community

The Marketing Tactic that Social Media Marketers Often Forget | Business 2 Community | Marketing & Webmarketing | Scoop.it

" Pinterest is a popular paranoia, Instagram is indecently addictive and Facebook is so big you cannot ignore it. Social media is the hot business marketing trend. It is discussed at coffee shops, dinner parties and countless conferences.

You can use social media from desktops, iPads and iPhones, no matter where you are. Tweeting is the new texting and Google+ is gaining traction as its registered users now number over 400 million.

Social media marketing cannot be ignored. It is the marketing of the people. Marketing has been democratized. It is “native marketing” that requires no payment to third party channels (such as TV or radio) to promote your business. All you need is the content and the followers on your own social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, to distribute and share your brand message with and of course some marketing tools, skills and resources..."

The Google +1 Button Has No “Direct Effect” On Rankings

The Google +1 Button Has No “Direct Effect” On Rankings | Marketing & Webmarketing | Scoop.it

Google’s +1s do not have a direct effect on a site’s ranking in search results. Google’s Matt Cutts said as much in a “Power Searching With Google” hangout on Google+ (via Alex Graves)

Here’s more of what Cutts had to say in the hangout: “In the short term, we’re still going to have to study and see how good the signal is, so right now, there’s not really a direct effect where if you have a lot of +1s, you’ll rank higher.

But there are things like, we have an authorship proposal, where you can use nice standards to markup your webpage, and you’ll actually see a picture of the author right there, and it turns out that if you see a picture of the author, sometimes you’ll have higher click through, and people will say, ‘oh, that looks like a trusted resource.’

So there are ways that you can participate and sort of get ready for the longer term trend of getting to know not just that something was said, but who said it and how reputable they were.”

The Death Of SEO, Failed Predictions Over The Years [Infographic ] | Marketing & Webmarketing | Scoop.it

"SEO has been declared “dead” almost from when it first began, as our post from a few years ago, Is SEO Dead?

1997 Prediction, Meet 2009 Reality, covers. Now, a new infographic is out looking at how SEO has been “dying” over the years.

The infographic is from SEO Book and is interesting in that rather than taking a timeline approach, it instead shows examples of various types of people who’ve declared that SEO is dead and why they are, as the infographic puts it, “deluded.”

Also popular is project-based pricing, where the average price is between $2,500 to $5,000, in the US. That’s also the same average price for those who buy on a monthly retainer basis. Fixed prices on a contract basis is also a popular way that SEO is sold, but no averages were provided..."

You’ve probably heard so many things about how complicated it is from a marketing point of view, you might even find it a bit scary.

I don’t blame you. Reddit is very particular in how it works, its users and its etiquette. If you head over to the site for the first time, you’ll probably end up looking at the screen with a big question mark on your forehead. I know I have been there.

That said, you should probably also know the site is extremely popular and while it might be very different from other plattforms, it could, when used carefully, give you very good results in your marketing initiatives..."

You probably have already heard that Social Media is the new SEO, too. The reason isn’t rocket science. Major search engines are focused on delivering the best possible search experience to their users.

Otherwise, they cease to become “major” search engines. That being the premise — sites offering more relevant content get more visibility in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages).

Content marketing company Compendium ran a study with more than 200 companies, checking on how social media marketers can get optimum engagement in business-to-business and business-to-consumer conversations. The study looked at factors such as word count, punctuation, time of posting, and day of the week of posting to determine success factors.

Using Social Media as SEO - What Can it Do For You? -

Using Social Media as SEO - What Can it Do For You? - | Marketing & Webmarketing | Scoop.it

"Social media has become an important factor in Google’s algorithm calculation to work out the ranks of businesses in search engines. Webpages are likely to rank higher if they’ve been shared, ‘liked’, ‘followed’ and generally talked about on social networking forums. With the fast move towards the community branding in social media, people are looking to be recommended services by their peers, and social media is the crux and source of this recommendation service.

Many traditional SEO campaigns didn’t account for social media as it wasn’t considered by Google before. SEO was focussed on content, keywords, meta tags, title tags and several back end features of websites to boost a brand via its own platform. Now there are a plethora of services which the general public are using and your business should be a part of them..."

Infographic Consumers favor email over other mobile messaging | Marketing & Webmarketing | Scoop.it

"Consumers name email as their top choice for mobile messaging, according to a survey of 322 consumers by StrongMail and Forrester Consulting. Those polled say frequency of messages and targeting are key influencers in their likelihood to open or respond to promotional offers they receive on their mobile phone.

The “Consumer Perceptions of Mobile Marketing for StrongMail” study also reveals that most smartphone users (65%) are willing to receive email promotions at least once a week, but are far less interested in receiving deals via SMS or in-app messages. In fact, 60% and 63% of respondents, respectively, prefer not to receive offers via those formats. And while smartphone users are more likely to purchase an item after opening a promotional email (32%), they're much less inclined to do so if they receive an SMS or in-app promotion (9% and 6%, respectively).
