What is Predictive Analytics - Position²

What is Predictive Analytics - Position² | Marketing tools | Scoop.it

Excerpt...

Predictive analytics is a form of advanced analytics studies current data, detects patterns and predicts possible future trends.

It helps you make the best use of the behavioral data available by predicting what customers or prospects will do and the best option you can provide them. For example, if data suggests that whenever a particular baseball team loses, sales of beer goes up amongst its fans, the brand can make special offers as soon it knows that the team is doing badly. The brand can make its offer depending on what it wants to achieve – it can ask consumers to try a new variety of beer or try and get consumers to switch brands etc.

Predictive analytics helps bridge the gap between what you think your customers want and what they actually want. Their current behavior patterns show where they are headed so you can offer your brand when they are primed and ready.

Predictive analytics points out the instances that are most likely to convert into actual sales in the near future. For example, if data indicates that 1 year after buying a smart phone, customers buy a tablet, then it pays to be ready to be the first brand to offer a tablet a year after the customer has bought a smart phone.

How to Make Your Marketing Message Pop With Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) - HubSpot

How to Make Your Marketing Message Pop With Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) - HubSpot | Marketing tools | Scoop.it

Digest...

NLP, or neuro-linguistic programming, is a theory that claims people react more strongly to language that invokes one of their senses. Most people have an innate bias towards their eyes, ears, or hands, which translates into them preferring visual, auditory, or kinesthetic language.

Marketing materials have to cater to many people with many different preferences. Since it’s rare to see any one emotional language bias among a type of buyer or target audience -- the population is roughly split into thirds -- marketers should instead try to hit all three bases with their messaging.

Here are some suggestions for how to do that:

Visual – Visual people process information through their eyes, and are therefore drawn to content types they can see, such as infographics, videos, and SlideShares. Use language that evokes color, brightness, and sight -- “show me,” “green with envy,” etc.

Auditory – These are people that prefer to use their ears. Instead of stimulating visuals, they’re more interested in sound, as packaged in podcasts or recorded interviews. “Hear me out,” “tell me,” “hit a sour note,” etc.

Kinesthetic – They’re the hands-on learning type. Whereas visual or auditory people like to see or hear information, kinesthetic people actually need to participate by clicking or interacting in some way. Use physical phrases like “let’s walk through this” or “tackle a problem.”

Google can now track when your online clicks lead to phone calls - VentureBeat

Google can now track when your online clicks lead to phone calls - VentureBeat | Marketing tools | Scoop.it

Digest...

Companies can already find out when people click their ads on Google and then call a business. But when a person clicks and ad and then explores a bunch of pages on a company’s website and then makes a call hours later, that’s a whole other thing. Google couldn’t track that — until now.

Today Google announced the availability of this new feature on its Google Adwords service.

Setting up the feature is a matter of adding some code to the website. That action automatically sets up Google forwarding numbers for ad clicks.
