This article listed 7 steps of making a successful promotion program. The 1st step here is to define success. In my opinion, defining success is similar with realizing what the objectives and goals are for the promotion. It is like marketers must know clearly where to go before they set out. In the 4th step 'determining the mechanics' contains the step of deciding your budgets, and I think the program budgets should be put in the first step and give a range of the budget so that marketers can make a plan within the budget. In fact, both deciding objectives and budgets are the very first and important steps in planning a program.

Renee Huang's comment, August 21, 2013 9:43 AM
Through this article I realised the promotion is part of marketing. The seven steps are clearly show and guide how to create a great promotion. Except those seven steps, the company must set of own strategy to promote the marketing. If you have your own set of strategies, planned to do is more effective than you do nothing. In nowadays there are so much platform on the market that are more credibility and reputation are easy to push the media; branding it must be based on the core values of the brand commander of all enterprise marketing communication (speech) activities, namely a marketing campaign as any product development, packaging design, advertising, channel strategy, promotional display terminal to the streets to accept media interviews and even communicate with the public at any one time opportunity that should go to the interpretation of the brand's core values. Thus, any first contact with the brand when consumers can feel unified brand image, it means that every minute of the marketing advertising costs are to deepen consumer’s memory.
