9 Social Media Marketing Mistakes (Infographic)

Sean Lorden's curator insight, November 23, 2014 9:39 PM

This article goes in depth about social media marketing mistakes, and how certain things are not useful at all and can lead to failure when trying to market your company or business.  Focusing on quantity of followers over quantity is one big mistake because this means you are simply just worried about the number of followers, not actually engaging followers and creating good content, you want to be creative.  Lacking a personality is another huge mistake, and you want to make sure you bring out a personality and bring out the true colors of the brand or company.  Not posting engaging content on a regular basis is another mistake and will not give you a good reputation as a brand.  If you don't stay consistent and try to post things that will keep people interested, no one will want to check your page out and no one will show interest.  Finally, a huge mistake is not having a strategy at all and going with the flow.  This is a huge mistake because you at least want to have a solid base plan with what you plan to do, and not just go with the flow because that will just make things less organized and not attract people to your page.

Shaquille Portee's curator insight, November 24, 2014 11:09 AM

This infographic really highlights the mistakes companies make when creating content for their social media pages. Personally i see these mistakes all the time and can be off putting to the consumer. For instance, companies are extremely quick to focus on the quantity of followers instead of the quality. I also see companies posting the same content over and over again which eventually makes their page feel like a spam page. A lot of companies also don't post engaging content.

Uso redes sociales empresas españolas

Uso redes sociales empresas españolas | Marketing de contenidos | Scoop.it

6 free visual marketing tools

6 free visual marketing tools | Marketing de contenidos | Scoop.it

This lack of artistic ability poses a threat to my marketing career, especially now that visual content marketing is the ticket to success. Even though I have other creative traits, I'm worried I'll get left in the visual storytelling dust.

I know I'm not alone.

Luckily, we non-artists have a few tools to mask our lack of design talent.

These tools are free, but often have advanced paid features for when you're ready to step up your game. They don't replace a designer's expertise, but you can use them for smaller projects, like blogs, social media graphics, or Slideshare templates....
