Music video for Shakira sponsored by Activia tops Volkswagens "The Force" as most shared of all time.
Will Corry's insight:

According to data released today by marketing tech firm Unruly, a music video that is also a commercial for yogurt brand Activia starring Colombian pop singer Shakira has generated 5,375,756 shares across Facebook, Twitter and the blogosphere.


That trumps Volkswagen's 2011 Super Bowl spot "The Force" which clocked in with total shares of 5,372,945, according to Unruly.


The Shakira ad was released on May 22, which indicates that it took just over two months for it to surpass Volkswagen's highly publicized ad. Unruly said that until Shakira's ad came along, the charming spot featuring a child in Darth Vader costume held the title of most-shared for over three years by a margin of nearly 3,000 shares.

Mozilla has named Chris Beard Chief Executive Officer. Beard had been serving as Mozilla's interim CEO since April.

Beard most recently served as Executive-in-Residence at Greylock Partners for less than one year. Prior to Greylock, Beard spent nine years in various senior-level positions at Mozilla, including Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Innovation Officer. 

Beard's predecessor, Brendan Eich, was appointed CEO of Mozilla, but quit the post after 11 days, after it was revealed he had made a 2008 donation in support of a ban on gay marriage in California. As a result of Eich's appointment, half of the Mozilla board quit their positions at the company.

Product samples are enclosed within orders placed by people who have been identified by Response One as being receptive to such promotions.


For example, Maybelline wanted to target young, fashionable females with samples of BB Cream foundation. Response One matched the target profile with ASOS – the perfect carrier with its fashion-forward, on-trend and social media-loving customer base.


Samples of BB Cream were placed into ASOS’s online orders and the reaction was monitored via forums, blogs and social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
