Right on target - Identify the signal through the noise. The applications for big data technology are maturing with more organizations implementing event-driven big data architectures in 2013. This helps them draw conclusions and take actions faster than ever. In a short conversation with one of our lead consultants today, I learned about MarkLogic’s support for "reverse queries". We allow users to develop and store queries. As data is ingested and indexed in real time, MarkLogic determines the matching query and sends an e-mail alert to assigned users - real time notifications. This sounds like it could be used in just about any industry but government intelligence, personalized medicine, insurance claims analysis, social media analysis, commodity trading, all types of other financial applications and dynamic publishing systems all seem like useful applications. How about cyber security against e-mail traffic and attachments? The speed at which you operate is directly linked to the technology supporting your big data solution. In turn, this drives success.
