Marc Walker of Reno Seasoned Law Enforcement Officer
There are some people who spend their entire life in private enterprise. There are some who become teachers or doctors. And then there are those who choose to become law enforcement officers. Marc Walker of Reno is one who falls into the latter category. He has worked as a law enforcement officer in many capacities over the course of his career and he continues to work hard and apply himself in order to serve his community and to continue on his upwardly mobile path. Marc Walker of Reno's interest in serving his community and his country started back in 1990, when he joined the US Marine Corps. Marc Walker of Reno served in the US Marine Corps for five years before going on to take advantage of the education offered him by the GI Bill. Following his receipt of a Bachelor of Science from the College of Health and Human Services at California State University-Sacramento, in Recreation Administration with a concentration in Recreation and Park Management, he became a Park Ranger at the Mendocino Lake Reservoir and Recreation Areas. Here he learned how to enforce rules and help people better enjoy the beauty of nature. After his tenure as a Park Ranger, Marc Walker then went on to work with the US Border Patrol, where he worked in both metropolitan and remote areas. The work could be dangerous at times, but it was always interesting and he was proud to be able to help protect the border. This gave him a lot of experience in working with people on both sides of the law and he learned the best way to balance these responsibilities. "The time I have spent in law enforcement positions has been extremely educational and rewarding," Marc Walker of Reno has said when asked about the length of his career. "It's hard to say anything more on it than that - other than I still strive every day to live up to my professional reputation and do an excellent job." Marc Walker of Reno currently still works as a law enforcement officer and loves his job. His high degree of dedication and professionalism has gotten him far and he will continue to work in a law enforcement position with an eye on upward mobility and excellence.
