Russell R. Roberts, Jr.'s curator insight, November 30, 2014 11:28 PM

As a teacher in a public charter school on Hawaii Island, I find Tony Reeves's argument "spot on."  I find e-mail is useful for contacting fellow teachers, school officials, and parents.  But for student contacts, other than one-on-one or via a cellphone, linking up with a social network is more efficient.  Hardly any of my students use email these days.  Granted, much of the business world still uses emai. However, the world of business is shifting to social media, blogs, company-sponsored websites, and other digital means of conveying a message.  Email has a limited lifespan, especially when new methods of communicating are being developed every year.  Aloha, Russ.
