Redefining the Writing Process with iPads

Redefining the Writing Process with iPads | Malta Digital Curation and Learning | Scoop.it

A really nice example of reshaping a common process at school using the SAMR model.

tammy bailey's curator insight, January 15, 2014 10:48 AM

Using the iPad would make the research, peer editting process, and revising process easier.  Most students that enjoy writing do not enjoy the revise, editting process.  The use of the iPad definately streamlines the writing process!

Mary Kate Lavin's curator insight, January 23, 2014 10:08 AM

This article describes the writing process by using an ipad to organize, compose, and edit their written language.  Many students do not enjoy writing because of the process it takes for them to write (think of an idea, form the letters, make a complete sentence, and then edit the work)

Why We Changed Our Model of the “8 Essential Elements of PBL” | Blog | Project Based Learning | BIE

Why We Changed Our Model of the “8 Essential Elements of PBL” | Blog | Project Based Learning | BIE | Malta Digital Curation and Learning | Scoop.it
BIE’s Essential Project Design Elements contain two new items, both of which are familiar to those who know PBL. One is “authenticity,” which has to do with how real-world the project is. The other is “reflection,” which we have previously coupled with “revision” but now stands on its own; students should reflect on what they’re learning, how they’re learning, and what they have accomplished in a project.

How flipped learning works in (and out of) the classroom

How flipped learning works in (and out of) the classroom | Malta Digital Curation and Learning | Scoop.it

Flipped learning is more than just having students do homework during the school day. It’s more than just putting the onus on students to teach themselves. In fact, it’s neither of those things. Don’t be fooled by simple explanations of flipped classrooms that simplify a highly complex undertaking.
