My Thoughts:

This article covered the steps to take to stay out of credit card debt . The first tip told me to use cash or a debit card because studies have found that people spend around 15 percent more on purchases paid with a credit card. The next tip was on how I should spend my money on food. It says to make lunch or dinner at home instead of fast food which will save at least $15 per week by cutting out a restaurant meal or two will add up to $780 annually. A next good tip I saw was to drop a house phone and stick to a cell phone only to save more money.

Jordan's insight:

My Thoughts:

This article covered the benefits of creating a bank account, I already knew it was a good idea but this gave me a clearly idea of what it could really do for me! The first paragraph talks about how my money will be safe. It will be safe from money will be safe from theft and fires. My money will be federally insured. So, even if my bank or credit union closes, I will get your money back. The maximum amount of money that can be insured is $250000. The next paragraph tells how a bank account is convenient. Paying by check is much easier and cheaper than buying a money order and I'll have proof that I paid your bills. If I set up a debit card, I could make payments directly and easy from my account, and use it just like a credit card. The next paragraph it tells me how I can save money, which is important in college! Many banks offer a small interest rate when put money in a savings account the interest will help my money grow over time.
