Beat Making Lab, a project that began in 2011 as a music production and entrepreneurship class at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, had morphed into an international expedition to teach kids how to make beats
Deviant Noise's insight:
This is an amazing project and I hope it lasts for a long time to come. Music is healing to many conditions - from the emotional to the economic. For producers to travel around the world and teach people to make small studios and produce music is some real shit. I know the power this can have - we had a similar project put on by a rap group - Platinum Black - in our city to teach at risk youth about music production. When kids have something to do that they love, they don't care to do other - more negative - things. It's a win-win for the kids, the communities and the world. Big up Beat Making Lab.
