#HR #Management Three-Step Change Management Scenario for Digital

#HR #Management Three-Step Change Management Scenario for Digital | Making #love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

Organizations large or small are on the journey for digital transformation, however, there’s always cultural frictions to changes. Usually there is a failure to have a discussion at all levels of the organization on the following three questions before getting into the details: 1) Are we willing to change? 2) At what rate are we willing to change? 3) What is the reward for embarking on a process of change? Too often top management says they need to change or selects a set of numbers relative to goals and then unleashes a fancy name program on the organization and says "Charge”! So it's no surprise that won't work. Then what are the logical steps for managing the change process and sustaining the change outcome?

Five years ago I was working as an attorney in our Law department when I was offered a leadership position in an entirely new area—corporate strategy. At the time, I knew nothing about corporate strategy, which, as you can imagine, made me nervous. What would happen if people found out I wasn’t the expert?

Introverts and extroverts alike can excel at #personalbranding #marcapersonal

Introverts and extroverts alike can excel at #personalbranding #marcapersonal | Making #love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

"There is no-one-size-fits-all approach to personal branding. No matter where you are on the introversion/extroversion scale, your success lies at the intersection of what you do best and how you personally like to make things happen."

The last paragraph of William Arruda's article sums up exactly why success is not the privilege of a few. We all have a chance to make it big. Personal branding is no exception.

I always tell clients and participants in my social media classes that I never sleep the night before a presentation. Actually, I often am the most shy person in a room. But I have never let that stop me from achieving what I wanted.

Why? Most of the reasons are in this article:

Personal branding is not about being famous, it’s about being selectively famous.Personal branding does not require constant schmoozing at events.Personal branding is not a “me me me” activity. It’s about giving to others. - That's why curation is so important. Personal branding doesn’t require public speaking. - You don't have to take part in big events to be recognized by others.

Social media has allowed us to make our voices heard. It's important to take advantage of it.

#Liderazgo #Leadership 3 Ways to Be Seen as a Leader in Your Field

#Liderazgo #Leadership 3 Ways to Be Seen as a Leader in Your Field | Making #love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it
Have you ever wondered what it would take to become a “thought leader” in your industry? Have you put any effort into developing your personal brand?

If you see the value in these concepts, but don’t know where to start, this post is for you.

The good news is, plenty of thought leadership and personal branding opportunities exist—thanks in large part to the internet. The route you take will depend on your strengths. If you’re a gifted speaker, participating in a TEDx talk or speaking at conferences can boost your profile. And if you have a way with the written word, guest posting on blogs and media sites is a relatively easy way to build your brand. If you have graphic design skills, teaming up with a like-minded company or influencer to create a valuable infographic is another option.

"...learning is ubiquitous in ongoing activity, though often unrecognised as such - Jean Lave (1993)"

Recently, I read a series of posts and articles related to digital literacy, 21st Century Skills and the behaviours and practices required for working and learning in a connected world. Last week I wrote about MOOCs in Workplace Learning-Part 5: Skill Learners Need Today. I should have actually called it "mindsets for a digital and connected world". Anyhow, getting back to the point, here are some of the interesting and insightful posts and resources on the topic of digital literacy that kept me thinking this week:

#Leadership Change This - Sprinkles: An Antidote To The Demise of Customer Surprise

#Leadership Change This - Sprinkles: An Antidote To The Demise of Customer Surprise | Making #love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

“Without 'sprinkles,' service is simply good; with sprinkles good becomes distinctive. As customers, we do not tweet, blog, or speak about good service, only about service with sprinkles. And, customers today have developed a 'sprinkles sonar.' Surprise is not really a surprise if it is completely predictable.”

What has made customer surprise in such a scarcity? At least three culprits have robbed the glee of service. First, many organizations have been forced to apply austere expense cutting in the face of ever-diminishing profit margins; value-added amazement has gotten pricey. Second, rising customer expectations have elevated what it takes to be judged as enchanting. Customers live in a highly stimulated daily lives. Stores have become sensory theater; TV and the Internet as vibrant as Broadway after dark. To paraphrase an old song, “How you gonna keep ‘em down on the farm, after they’ve seen Zappos.” There is a third reason…one subtler and far more challenging.” - See more at: http://changethis.com/manifesto/show/126.01.Sprinkles#sthash.R5YDxv4L.dpuf

A big part of a change leader's job is understanding how and why people do what they do in order to influence that behaviour. We craft strategies and plans, and write fancy presentation packs and develop training plans. But there is more to the story.
Six Social Change Management LessonsHow useful would it be if you could predict or at least have some idea of people's reaction to a proposed change? You would be more empowered to help them and improve the odds of achieving the benefits hoped for.
There are a handful of social psychology lessons you can employ to great effect. In this article let's look at six social psychological principles and how you can use them to target your change activities more effectively.

"Grab favourable comments and case studies from key employees throughout the organisations who are really exemplifying the change and broadcast this far and wide."

Some of these ideas come from Behavioral Economics - Dan Ariely et al.

Susanna Lavialle's curator insight, March 22, 8:46 AM

Good article. Relying on the organizational hierarchy / leadership dimension - and obedience in general to what is said or written by "the management" - is much more marked in some cultured than others.

You really need to understand your stakeholders - what (and especially who) influences, inspires and motivates them...

Also : Agree the first small steps toward the goal are significant -

celebrating event the smallest of early successes, recognising the quick adapters - and thanking the people for their efforts - can be very powerful. In the end we are all just human beings and like to be treated with respect - and given the needed time, attention and support.

#HR #RRHH Change #management poses unique challenges | Making #love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

Change management is now an essential part of effective corporate strategy. After all, market conditions are now advancing at a pace never seen before, putting every industry in a position where regular change is inevitable.

What's more, organisations that can effectively implement a change management strategy are in a small minority, with most companies having only limited success when moving to a new operating model.

According to research from the Project Management Institute (PMI), only 18 per cent of companies have an efficient change management process, with the same number falling into the 'minimally effective' category.

#RRHH De que hablo cuando hablo de #Talento... - A través de las personas by @enr_escalante | Making #love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it
