21 Things to Do to Help Your Infographic Go Viral

21 Things to Do to Help Your Infographic Go Viral | Making Infographics | Scoop.it

Did you know that 65 percent of us are visual learners and that the brain processes visual information 60,000 times faster than text?

In a world where people are too busy to eat lunch, an image is exactly what we need to get the latest information in as little time as possible. That’s why memes spread like a disease and online videos have enjoyed such a meteoric rise.

And of course, the more people view it, the more they’ll share it with their friends and the bigger the impact it will have on your goals.

But memes only translate small, simple ideas, and videos can’t be viewed in a glance. What if you want to present lots of data, and you want your audience to comprehend it immediately?

Try an infographic.

Use these 21 tips to plan and create an infographic and then help your infographic go viral.

Actually I did do a project with freshmen students. They report that the interventions we used in the classroom made a difference in their reading ability and we increased our test scores for this group significantly.

There’s no doubt that one of the biggest storytelling forms to emerge within the last few years — especially online — is the infographic. Everywhere you turn, outlets are taking advantage of the highly visual, very sharable medium to give readers easily digestible pieces of data. And, from high tech studies to psychology research, it’s obvious that infographics not only enhance data content for readers but also show no signs of slowing down.
