The Current State of Most Popular Social Networks – what’s up, what’s down
Ignite Social Media is back with the 2012 Most Popular Social Networks Analysis Report
The report breaks down demographic, geographic and google search data that shows which networks are underperforming and which are mounting the winners’ podium.
Some really interesting statistics here, indicating which most popular social networks are growing dramatically. Some names you won’t recognise because they are in non-English speaking areas of the world such as China.
It’s really exciting to see the increase in imagery as a common way of communicating online now. Consumers are becoming more able to interpret graphs and pictorials and obviously can’t get enough of them.
Twitter and Tumblr are among the top five most popular social networks with the strongest rate of growth. Pinterest, Reddit and LinkedIn round out the pack.
Google+ is included in the report for the first time this year but is surprisingly absent from the list of fastest growing most popular social networks. Facebook continues to perform well, though it’s hard to increase dramatically when nearly everyone has already joined.
