Lego Robot Folds and Flings a Paper Airplane

Lego Robot Folds and Flings a Paper Airplane | Made Different | Scoop.it
NXTLOG user hknssn13 built this amazing paper airplane machine. My favorite part is the 4th stage, where four linear actuators make the final folds in the airplane. It looks sick when the entire assembly rises up!

This is an AMAZING engineering feat.  Great for CTE-STEM students to study and think about.

inovative ideas such as these making robotics available to the general public are ingenious in my opinion as they help society adapt to robotics aswell as bring the awe in seeing what you can create.

I love Mindstorms and Lego Robotics. As a middle school teacher in the 80's I'd hold sumo wrestling robot tournaments for the kids. All teams started with the same tools.  Winners were the best pushers!  Motivation was off the charts.

ROBOTICS will be a major driver for global job creation over the next five years.  The announcement is based on a study conducted by the market research firm, Metra Martech, "Positive Impact of Industrial Robots on Employment".

One million industrial robots currently in operation have been directly responsible for the creation of close to three million jobs, the study concluded. A growth in robot use over the next five years will result in the creation of one million high quality jobs around the world.  Robots will help to create jobs in some of the most critical industries of this century: consumer electronics, food, solar & wind power, and advanced battery manufacturing to name just a few.

In my opinion this is one of the directions that robotics should be heading in, many people would say that robotics such as this would always put people out of work and this arguement has been made by people for years and while initially it may be true society has now i believe adapted to this idea and will continue to adapt as robotics such as this make life intensly easyer for the average worker in the long run, also in the long run it forces society to adapt to situations where the jobs are obsolete, lifting the overall education levels to provide further advancements in all fields.
