The bottom line is that networking is going digital and these digital channels reach a lot of people. This is why you see luxury companies using these platforms.
Luxury-product buyers are clearly into digital communications, they use this more than the non-luxury buyers.

Going Digital Is Critical For Luxury Carmakers In China

Going Digital Is Critical For Luxury Carmakers In China | Lux Social Web | Scoop.it

From WeChat accounts to Weibo competitions, brand ambassadors to home-grown Chinese designers, luxury car brands are taking their China efforts to the next level to tap rising incomes among the country’s digitally savvy 20- and 30-somethings. Bonnie I agree parents are important today so many seem to be tuned out to the needs of there children, it is a lot more than just material needs, that parents need to provide, and with the prevalence of single parent homes, it is even harder. I feel as much for the parent of these homes as I do for the children it can not be easy wearing all the hats.

Facebook is presently seen as the key social platform; 95% of luxury marketers said they were actively engaging customers there. Twitter was the next most popular platform, followed by relative newcomer Pinterest.

The power of social is considerable. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube were all more popular places to engage consumers than ecommerce sites, which have a more direct connection to online luxury brands. That being said, more than half of respondents were reaching out through those channels as well.
