The Patient 360 Community Hospital Program, an initiative of the Lung Cancer Foundation, is working to create specialized lung cancer centers inside community hospitals. The program's approach focuses on collaboration between multidisciplinary teams of medical professionals to provide individualized treatment to each patient. Molecular testing for 100% of patients to guide targeted therapies is a major emphasis of the program. A 6-month pilot stage at one hospital has produced positive outcomes, including faster diagnosis-to-treatment times and high patient satisfaction. The program hopes to enroll 3 more hospitals in 2013 and 30 to 50 by the end of 2015.
