Vaikuttaa lupaavalta vuorovaikutteiselta työkalulta yhteistoiminnalliseen oppimiseen.

Thoreauback's curator insight, April 9, 10:14 AM

WOW! I use freewrites in my face-to-face class because I don't believe a person can write without thinking. Yet, the document students are writing about is always distinct from the free write. In LMS discussion boards the situation is the same.

Do you remember how annotations use to appear in the margins of really good books? This is the same. The two-pane interface puts the document right in front of the student and lets them attach their comments to specific paragraphs, pictures or videos.  How perfect is that?

I want to try this for a quarter.

Mary Clark's curator insight, April 11, 11:02 AM

While much of this can be done in Google docs, there are several features which can extend the conversation.  Teachers do need to share documents via email.

I like number 5. I worked in a school where the vice-principal, a tech maven, had teachers complete an Excel schedule (that was the biggest use for Excel in the building) and those were the stats used to justify the use of a computer lab. This was despite the fact it was often unused. What are statistics for?

Kids Share Their Thoughts on Student Engagement

Kids Share Their Thoughts on Student Engagement | Lund's K-12 Technology Integration | Scoop.it

"A while back, I was asked, "What engages students?" Sure, I could respond, sharing anecdotes about what I believed to be engaging, but I thought it would be so much better to lob that question to my own eighth graders. The responses I received from all 220 of them seemed to fall under 10 categories, representing reoccurring themes that appeared again and again.
