Jason Yau's insight:

Too true ... Someone who shares similar values with you will naturally love, be affectionate and pay attention without being asked.  Even better, they are being themselves so the challenge to you is to be yourself!

Jason Yau's insight:

I often hear, "I don't want to trust too quickly because I'll get hurt".  What I find interesting is that we hold so much back because we fear getting hurt because we get judged or laughed at.

But for those who put themselves out there (guys and girls), they gain the greatest rewards in forging great relationships through effort and perseverence.  The thing we seldom acknowledge is that they are still scared of being hurt - they just choose to go through with it anyway ...

Perfect? Pffft! Be Consistent And Selfish!

Perfect? Pffft! Be Consistent And Selfish! | Love The Way U Want | Scoop.it
I used to look for perfection: the perfect job, the perfect relationship, the perfect life. As it is with the journey of life, I didn't get my perfect job or the perfect relationship. Does that...
Jason Yau's insight:

I used to focus on perfection ... Now I aim to be consistent and that little bit more selfish so I can give back more.

Why it is important to compliment yourself.

Why it is important to compliment yourself. | Love The Way U Want | Scoop.it
I love to compliment myself and I do think that I compliment myself way too much sometimes, not that it's wrong or anything! In Bahasa Malaysia, we have this saying. "Masuk bakul, angkat sendiri." ...
Jason Yau's insight:

Great learning today about self appreciation.  You start to carry yourself differently when you appreciate yourself that little bit more.  People notice it because you know you're awesome!

Jason Yau's insight:

Sometimes people forget that it the Heart that is the source of your desires - the job of the Brain is to work out how to get you there.  If you let your Brain drive, nothing gets done because it's too busy trying to protect you.

Awesome! Applicable to beliefs, life and love ...
Cherrie Bautista's curator insight, January 15, 11:31 AM

A lot of people miss this because they're too busy serving the needs of others.  Love and take good care of yourself.  You'll feel good about yourself and will be more available to give love and serve others.  You will be at your best for the people you love and value the most --- and will be healthy and happy as well.

Wholehearted

Wholehearted | Love The Way U Want | Scoop.it

Inspiring and funny TED talk from researcher Brené Brown about what truly enables us to connect and love: The ability to allow ourselves to be vulnerable. Or as Brené Brown calls it, to be truly 'seen', to love with all our heart. In other words, to be 'wholehearted'. To believe we are 'enough', that we are worthy of love and belonging...

I had an interesting chat with some ladies in their early 20s a few days ago and when discussing the idea of finding strength when being vulnerable they freaked out.

Brene Brown has an amazing view about vulnerability which I agree with - If you're scared of sharing your vulnerabilities the more you shun and hide them. It certainly doesn't help you love that they exist in your life to begin to address the road towards improvement. Loving those vulnerabilities gives courage to say, "This is ME. And I am ready to grow to a ME in the way I choose!"

Enjoy!
