35% of Consumers Now Use Mobile To Shop | PYMNTS.com

35% of Consumers Now Use Mobile To Shop | PYMNTS.com | Insights for Local Businesses, Franchisors, and Franchisees | Scoop.it

More than one out of every three (35 percent) shoppers today use mobile devices as part of their purchasing process, a 10 percent hike from 2012, according to new results from a shopper behavior study. Much of the change comes from sharp increases from three demographic groups: Hispanics, Asian-Americans and the rather wide age range of 15-49.To be fair, the new stats from the 2-year study by the Integer Group and M/A/R/C Research explore any role a mobile device would play, including research (price comparisons, searching for products) both instore and offline. That’s certainly legitimate when exploring the total impact of mobile devices on shoppers, but using an Android at home to verify the exact address of the nearest Home Depot is a far cry from using Apple Pay to make a purchase. The study does make it clear, though, that mobile use of almost every kind is increasing. Not surprising, but worthy of note....

This article gives you a bunch of different ways that help promote yourself using LinkedIn.  It teaches you how to : Find Hidden User Information, Include keywords , Keep Summary and Specialties Separate, Leverage Find Alumni and finally, gives advice about meeting people offline to help boost your job chances. This article talks about using the account to its full potential, because if you are not, then you are definitely missing out on networking opportunities. All it takes is a few changes in your platform, and that will make all the difference.  Your Job title gives you 100 characters, you should use them all!! For example: your job title may be Vice President Human Resources; To optimize that job title, add certain keywords, such as: Vice President Human Resources/ Director of Human Resources/ HR Generalist.  These are just a few examples that they give. It makes total sense, we just are too lazy to do it.

6 online spaces where you should be growing your presence | memeburn | Insights for Local Businesses, Franchisors, and Franchisees | Scoop.it

Digital marketing is a little like mother’s love. You just keep doing it without conditions, expectations, or even hopes of returns.

If you think you have the resources for this, you are wrong. The right tools are all over the place, including right under your nose.

Using IM Creator and Duda, your website — and its mobile version — can be up in an hour.

HootSuite can help you set up social media updates for as far in the future as you like.

Campaign Monitor and MailChimp can help you template out your newsletters, and automate and analyze your email marketing campaigns.

You don’t need a fully laid out plan. Just start – that’s the key....

Morgan Lefkof's curator insight, September 29, 12:24 PM

The article begins by saying that digital marketing can help a company reach countless amounts of people. Every business wants to be “seen, heard, known, and trusted”. The problem is a company cannot be trusted when they only have a small presence online. This article explains that companies should build their presence in these six online places. The first online place is to start at home. The article explains the importance of blogging and how it will increase followers. The second online place is building an email list. These audiences are waiting and eager to hear from you, which means they are more likely to react to your marketing. Reaching out to web neighbors is the third online place. Once your blog is established, it is important to befriend other bloggers and comment on their posts. The fourth online place is social networks. This article recognizes networks like Google+, Facebook, and LinkedIn. The fifth place is online communities. Online community users tend to all have similar interests. So, if one of them use your business it is likely that others will too. The last online place is content hubs. These hubs allow companies to train and teach their customers.

I believe that all of these online places are very important. These days, people are more likely to search a company online before using them. If they have a large presence online with many reviews, the consumer is more likely to use them. Companies who have a low presence are less likely to be used.

How to Share Old Blogposts on Social Media | Insights for Local Businesses, Franchisors, and Franchisees | Scoop.it

Social media advice seems to come in two flavors: what to do and how to do it.

Take, for instance, the advice to reshare content from your blog’s archives. This strategy seems to pay big dividends for the accounts who’ve embraced it. They’ve seen more traffic, more reshares, and more engagement even though the content itself isn’t brand new.

Sharing old content is awesome social media advice. So how exactly does one go about it?...

Seven Content Marketing Tips for Media Pickup and Massive Exposure

Seven Content Marketing Tips for Media Pickup and Massive Exposure | Insights for Local Businesses, Franchisors, and Franchisees | Scoop.it
Content marketing can be a great way to gain exposure for your company, but getting the media to care about your brand's news is difficult. Unless you're a Fortune 500 company, mainstream media, and even industry publications, probably won't cover your news.

You can try newsjacking—inserting your ideas and commentary into breaking news in the hopes of being quoted. Journalists get a ton of such press releases, though, and yours is usually just another needle in the haystack.

So how can you use content marketing to break into popular news stories?

We recently got in on a story that generated a massive amount of exposure and valuable citations for my company, WordStream. Our blog post on the effect that Google's Panda 4.0 algorithm had on eBay's organic search rankings ended up earning...

How To Find Top Hashtags Using Hashtagifyt

How To Find Top Hashtags Using Hashtagifyt | Insights for Local Businesses, Franchisors, and Franchisees | Scoop.it

Today, hashtags are everywhere. Even if you don’t use Twitter or Instagram, you can’t miss them on billboards, TV ads, even on product packagings: Big budget campaigns want to push their custom hashtags in every possible touchpoint they can put their hands on.

Smaller businesses can’t use the same tactics as the bigger fishes, and usually don’t have the dmeans, or even a good reason, to create and promote their own hashtag. But they can still use hashtags in many useful ways; the most obvious is to use relevant tags when you share interesting content on social media, so that you can reach a bigger audience. Finding the best hashtags for that can require a bit of research, but the good news is that having such a list will allow you to kill two birds with one stone....

Cool content marketing tool.

Allison Lloyd's curator insight, October 1, 12:43 AM

Hashtags have become a part of our everyday life.  This article is about how to find the right ones that work for you!

For starters, smaller businesses can have a harder time promoting their hashtag.  Of course they can use more typical ones to reach a bigger audience, but compiling a list of worthy hashtags can help boost your social media outlets, despite the research it may take.

For those people who want a similarly compiled list without doing the research themselves, a new free service called Hashtagify.me is available.

You provide the service with reasons why you pick the hashtags you do, and the widget searches more than 35 million hashtags.

The app features 6 different widgets to show you what you need: popularity, top related, trend charts, trend comparisons, and   top 30 hashtags charts.

Hashtagify is always up to date, and evolves with social media.

A service like this could help both small and large businesses expand their social media reach.

So what's holding mobile advertising back? Fresh thinking on this challenge.

Gemma Shannon's curator insight, October 1, 6:30 AM

One of the crucial developments which needs to happen in mobile advertising as highlighted in this article, is the shift from banner adverts to video. Banner adverts on mobile have a reduced impact on consumers because of their limited format and creative, video on the other hand can have a much more significant impact because it is an eye-catching medium.

Jeff Anderson | GSN's curator insight, October 1, 10:45 AM
The article asks several luminaries their views on why mobile ads might stumble.  The answers:
  1. Embarrassingly poor creative ad formats. .
  2. The shift from banners to video

7 Ways to Create the Perfect Image for Your Social Content

7 Ways to Create the Perfect Image for Your Social Content | Insights for Local Businesses, Franchisors, and Franchisees | Scoop.it

In today’s visual world, you need more than a great headline to entice your readers to click and share. Your engagement on nearly every social platform, including your blog, is highly dependent on the images you associate with your content, and more importantly, on your audience’s perception of those images. This article discusses the seven ways to have the perfect content in a photo on social networks. The first of the seven ways is that one picture will not always work on every form of social media. Images with certain colors have different reactions on different mediums of social media. The next way to have the perfect content in a photo on social networks is to make the photo personal. Pictures that trigger emotions catch the viewers. The third way is to embrace the text. This means that a company should try to include text on the image. The fourth way is to use action shots. Show “what is happening now, or what will be happening soon”. The fifth way is to include not only images in posts, but also GIFs. The sixth way is to make sure you include images that you find from other websites. And lastly, use multiple images.

Recently I believe that more companies are trying to steer away from wordy posts on social media. This article would be really helpful for companies who are new to posting pictures online. Because viewers scroll quickly through their social media feeds, it is important to have posts that are eye catching. This article gives companies a checklist of effective images to have on their social medias.

Gemma Shannon's curator insight, September 21, 9:17 AM

Great article scooped by Jeff Domansky on top tips for creating images for your social content. One tip in particular resonated with me - the psychology of colours ; it is noted in the article that red/orange images receive double the amount of clicks as blue/green images on social media channels. Something worth bearing in mind if you want to optimise your engagement with fans/followers on social media through images. Another good tip related to including text on images to drive your brand's message home and including some text in larger font than others for emphasis -  a great iOS app for doing this is Wordswag.
