How to use turmeric to prevent lethal diseases
The typical Himalayan turmeric looks deep yellow or brownish orange or even brownish. It has antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-alzheimer and anti-arthritic effects...essentially preventing the onset of these diseases, among many other properties, too many to list here. It also helps reverse many conditions.
The easiest ways to get get the right quantity in your body is to drink turmeric tea or take half a teaspoonful of turmeric to a teaspoonful of honey and lick it. The best is of course freshly ground turmeric which we Indians do in many homes but others find it more convenient to buy packaged turmeric.
TURMERIC TEA: Bring four cups of water to boil, add one teaspoonful of turmeric and ground ginger [you can even crush it] and a pinch of rock salt or sea salt, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes. You will be left with 1/2 by volume or 2 cups. The turmeric will turn the water deep brown. Strain it. Add 1/2 small fresh lemon or lime juice [about one teaspoonful]. PLEASE NEVER ADD SUGAR. If at all, use honey.
TURMERIC WITH MILK: To a cup of hot milk, add 1/2 teaspoonful of freshly ground turmeric, add a bit of honey and drink it after evening meal.
TREATMENT OF SPRAINS: This is typical Indian solution to treat sprains. If you sprain a joint, typically ankle, use a mix of slaked lime with turmeric, roughly a cup of slaked lime and a few teaspoonfuls of turmeric, add water and make poultice, place it on and around the inflamed area and tie it up loosely with bandage, or even discarded T shirt cut into lengths. This was my favourite treatment.....and spraining my ankle was quite a regular event....and I think this has been in use for centuries. It works.
