"Stories were the first medium through which knowledge was transformed from one generation to the other. We owe a lot to those first storytellers who were abe to orally codify what would later be the base of human knowledge way before the invention of the printing press.

Storytelling still retains its importance as an important element of learning. Students learn best when they are given the chance to compose. read, listen and create. Writing stories and sharing them with others is a great way for students to put their literacy skills in to practice. Below is a selection of  good iPad apps I have meticulously selected for you to try with your students and kids."

Kids love story time and so many things have been shared by the long history of story telling.  I have been working on building my family tree using Ancestry.com.  Most of what I have been able to find came from details that I heard from my grands during story telling at reunions, family gatherings, and having big ears when adults were talking low!  Try these and let me know if your kids are engaged.
